I’ve started to have either Unexpected error or network offline errors several times a day. Reload-button reconnects back okay (except reverting active flight plan to some old plan which I have already removed from created plans list) but issue itself is weird, as I’m not having any actual ISP connection issues or something like that at all.
Can you send your Simlink logs, please? We’re not seeing many connection related posts, though seeing those logs might give a better idea as to what is going on.
- Open Simlink
- Select the
Logstab - Press the
Open log folderbutton in the bottom right - In the window that opens, find the latest modified file and upload it to your next post here.
Thanks
Shall I fetch those logs from SimLink installed to PC where my simulator is, or from laptop where my Charts is?
I assume you have tried the Charts app on the same PC you fly on? If the same behavior can be seen on that machine, it would be very helpful to see those logs.
No I haven’t tried as I don’t have Charts installed on my PC at all. Charts has always been on laptop so that I can simultaneously see charts and cockpit view.
Try both the app and charts.navigraph.com on that PC. If you can access and use Charts there, it might suggest something is misconfigured on the laptop.
For some reason didn’t find log dated today, even while that error occured like 30mins ago last time. But here is most recent log from laptop where also Charts installed, dated yesteday
simlink_2026-09-27.dlog (488 Bytes)
And by the way, as an update… I DID have Charts on my PC also earlier, but I ran into "cannot update Charts because gives error that program is still running and even shutting down whole process didn’t help… I always had to uninstall Charts, run registry cleaner to swipe out the rips and then clean install Charts new version… way too frustrating so uninstalled Charts from sim PC completely for good.
Charts web version now running on sim PC. I will monitor if gets into issues.
Hello
Thanks for the extra information. That helps a lot.
From what I can tell, it looks like some DNS/network drop off on the laptop. It would be good to eliminate these possibilities and check them off one by one;
- Check your system clock
- Settings → Time & Language → Date & Time - Make sure “set time automatically” is enabled and synchronised.
- Flush DNS
- Open command prompt and enter
ipconfig/flushdns
- Open command prompt and enter
- Try a public DNS
- Set your network adapter to use IPv4 DNS 1111 / 1.0.0.1 or 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4
- WiFi Power Saving
- Device Manager → Network Adapters → Your WiFi adapter → Power management - Uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”. Also, make sure that the computer isn’t partially going to sleep while you fly long legs.
- Ad filtering
- If you use a VPN, PiHole or some ad-blocker/antivirus protection, make sure you whitelist navigraph.com
Bear in mind also, Simlink needs to run on the machine that MSFS runs on. Thats how the moving map function on charts works and will provide all the necessary logging if things go south.
If the Charts app is affected also, its worth to check those logs too.
- Press Win + R
- Type
%appdata%/Navigraph Charts/logsand press enter - In the Explorer window that opens, locate the
main.logfile - Upload this file to your next post
