Hi Joel,

Please try suggestions at I can’t sign into my simlink - #2 by vishalahir

Cheers
Ian

I have been having this issue for the past week, reinstalling does not help. My dlog looks very much the same as in this post. Chrome is set as default browsers, there are no firewalls or anything else restricting the network traffic.

There are a number of troubleshooting steps to try in the link provided above. Please check through the advice that Vishal has given in the various threads.

I understand its a long read but there are many thing to try that can result in success.

I have gone through the threads and tried all the things listed. They do not help my case.

Ok please post the latest Simlink log here and we can take a look.

Bear in mind that its the weekend so we have limited support until Monday.

no worries, it has been broken for the last week for me, there is no immediate rush to fix it.

Can you make note of what you tried and the result? Its very important we understand what path you tried in order to eliminate those possibilities. Also, please start the sim and Simlink and send this log. It would be really nice to have the most updated set of logs for when both apps should be interacting with one and other.

To summarise advice;

Anti-Virus

  • Temporarily disable this or add an explicit exemption for Simlink. HTTPS being blocked will affect Simlink discovery.

DNS

  • Change this setting from Auto to specify DNS server(s). Typically the safest route is using Google (8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4) or Cloudflare (1.1.1.1)

VPN

  • If you use a VPN, please disable this. Also, if you use something that filters ads, like PiHole, NextDNS or AdGuard, please disable these to test. If you are using a corporate grade router like something from Ubiquity (Unifi), please take a look at the filtering options here too.

System Clock

  • It’s vitally important that your computer’s clock is synchronised to internet time. Right click your system clock on the taskbar and select:
    • Adjust Date & Time → Confirm that the time and timezones are set automatically.

Following the guide, I completely reinstalled Simlink Connect, and removed any and all Navigraph settings files and folders that were left over from the previous installation before installing again.

I also ensured there are no proxy blocks in any settings files. There were not.

I have no Antivirus software.

My DNS is already set to 8.8.8.8 with 1.1.1.1 being the failover setting.

I do not use VPN.

The system clock uses NTP and is correct.

I do not understand why Simlink Connect requires authentication, when all it does is connect to the Simulator, which has its own authentication, and the Charts app, which also has its own authentication.

I have attached a log after having tried the above steps above - it is already available to you.
