For years I’ve used Aivlasoft’s EFB (and still do) because I can see the wind at any given moment on the screen, but the greatest plus is that it uses FSUIPC to show where AI traffic is parked at an airport before you choose a gate for yourself. Any chance to incorporate this into NavCharts?
Secondly: could you please revisit your Airports in Navigraph because ever so often I want to create a flight and then Charts tells me it is not in the database. E.g. YKAT (Katoomba Airfield) and then I’m back in AivlaSoft because it has every single airport in the world.
Hello,
Your first question, we do have more AI/traffic items in our roadmap however this could be on the more mature side of integration. It is definitely an interesting Idea though!
Regarding YKAT, I don’t believe charts exist for this strip. AirServices Australia do not have details in the AIP either. Typically, if an airport is popular enough and it exists in the countries AIP, Jeppesen would port charts for it. Unfortunately, it does not seem like this could be the case.
Have a look to see if an NSWs local VFR guide might have something, my recommendation!
Thank you for your quick reply. Also thank you for your willingness to investigate how Charts could display parked aircraft injected by FSLTL in order to see which gates are free.
RE: YKAT - it’s a pity because msxcreations made a very detailed little ground strip for this challenging airfield.
Sometimes that’s the case, in order for Jeppesen to add an airport, I needs to satisfy certain criteria, two of the most primary are that there is a commercial use case and charts exist on the countries AIP.
As I mentioned, there may be locally produced VFR guidance and charts, but those are usually paper based. It might be worth to check in with a local flight club or group. You’d never know, something might be available!
