Throttle Range

Hi, I am trying to do the climb/descent lesson, but I can’t get the throttle on the 172 to go beyond 2330 rpm even with the throttle control on full. I have checked everything in MSFS settings and sensitivities and have recalibrated my Thrustmaster Hotas One controller, but still can’t get correct full throttle when flying in the 172. Anyone have a solution to this problem?

Huddison has video about the Hotas One controller, it might give some insight?

As a sidenote, the Hotas One does have issues with throttle position, most of which are unresolved due to Windows itself.

Hi thanks for the reply. This was one of the things I tried before posting my problem. Unfortunately despite updating the drivers I still can’t get beyond 2330 rpm in the simulator, so struggling with the lessons.

Hi

If there are problems in Windows with the Hotas One, which alternative from the ones you list in the Academy Resources would you recommend as a replacement?

Unfortunately the only thing I can advise here would be to change controls. The Hotas One does this as a known issue throughout the sim community (DCS is another one).

In terms of a replacement, that really depends on your budget. Turtle Beach are quite budget friendly, WinWing is another but more on the pro side of simming. The Thrustmaster TCA systems have both Boeing and Airbus iterations and are quite affordable.

Many thanks for your reply and your advice. I will look at the options you suggest and see how they fit with my budget and how i feel bout each one. If I can find one that allows me to fly the Academy lessons properly I will be happy.

Additionally, the Thrustmaster SOL-R joystick is also useful for flight simulation, featuring many switches and a rotating knob that is excellent for setting altitude, heading, speed, and other parameters on the MCP.

Cheers

Hi Ian

Many thanks for the information. I will have a look at that as well.

Hi

Decided to go for the Honeycomb Alpha+Bravo. I already have rubber pedals that are compatible so seemed like the best option to make sure everything works as it should.

Thats a solid choice!
