The new UI is terrible

The new UI is terrible, difficult to navigate, the one looked old but it was practical, this one not. It takes long to get basic informations, it’s difficult to navigate through waypoints (the slider is so tiny that it’s almost impossible to click it), even basic informations like the total route lenghts are hidden God’s only know where… It’s so painful.

We are right now working on wider scollbars.

For the other items, could you be more specific?

The total route length is shown right here:

Not hidden at all.

I totally agree

The first thing I usually do is to load a flightplan, now it’s at least 1 more click away.
And still I haven’t found out how to show the en route page.
Loading a flight plan should, as it worked before, visually present the whole route.
Why not?

Other examples are:

  • Navigraph keep disconnecting and need to login again every half an hour, even less, I didn’t count.
  • Creating an autoroute is quite frustrating and very easy to mistake and have to do everything once again compared to how simple used to be.

And these are the two things which comes to my mind. While the new features are appreciated, the new UI is much worse and complicated for no reason compared to the old one.

What type of device are you using? Could you post a screenshot? Of course it should be showing the full route when loading a flight.

Stephen

Hi,

Then you don’t have the latest version installed.

If you don’t see the update notification, quit the app and wait 30 seconds and start the app again.

We are working on an update to make the autoroute preserve any procedures already set on the flight. This is how the old app worked too, if you did autoroute after you had worked on the flight.

agree with the “import flight from simbrief” shouldn’t take the extra click. just import it. dont import it to a list where i have to select it again

I started by updating the new version today.
I don’t how or why but the enroute page shows up as it should

An improvement to this is coming too, to harmonize it with other lists where you select stuff with one less click.

How do I unpin a page. Clicking on the blue colored pin do not change anything.

My complain is when importing simbrief flightplan, I hope we can just double click the flightplan item on the list, instead of click/select the FP and then click the button on the bottom. That button on the bottom is the real pain.

I just added rwy 8 to ESSA, why doesn’t it show up graphically?

Mats

It will connect to then runway if you add an approach. The primary reason for selecting a destination runway to the flight is that helps you filter arrivals and approaches. We’ll consider making it show visually also before adding procedures.

Stephen

You probably have ”sync with current flight” enabled. If you disable it you can remove the autopinned charts.

Stephen

Yes that was the problem, thanks!

I see, but that is not a good assumption.
Some airports do not even have SID or STARS or the ATC directs you directly to an approach or you simply prefer not to plan for a SID/STAR as it might seem inconvenient.

I strongly suggest you remove such constraints.

Mats

Hi,

We’ll definitely consider drawing the route from the runway and not the airport reference point when a runway has been set. It is in our backlog now.
