Hi,
The application Simlink failed to start because no Qt platform plugin was found.
I got that message on Windows 11…
I have attempted to install the app Simlink 3 times…
Thanks for help
Bruno
Hi Bruno,
Welcome.
Suggest you try a complete reinstall :
-
Please use specifically Windows Programs and Features to uninstall Simlink:
-
If they exist delete directories
c:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Navigraph\Simlink and
c:\Program Files\Navigraph\Simlink. -
Then download and install latest Simlink .
-
Restart computer
Cheers
Ian
Hi Ian,
Thanks for your reply.
Below are the actions taken after receiving your mail:
-
Tried to uninstall the previous version of Simlink. Observed that the icon is not the simlink icon in the list of installed program (means not really installed)
-
Attempting to uninstall the app. I received the message in screenshot “1-Uninstal app”
-
Deleted the existing folder [c:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Navigraph\Simlink]
-
Downloaded the app from the website
-
Installed the App (No apparent problem during the install process)
-
Rebooted the computer and observed that the app icon was not displayed in the Start menu as new app
-
Observed that the lunch icon is not available in Start menu
-
Lunched the app from the search app in Start menu (Screen “2-Start App from search”
-
Received a message at start (screen 3-error message at start)
So I am still at the same point
Thanks for coming help
Regards
Bruno
Are you per chance running as a non Administrater user.?
Try running as Administrator.
Disable any antivirus and firewall. Re download Simlink, this time Right mouse on installer and Run as Administrator.
Once installed run Simlink.
Any joy?
Cheers
Ian
I tried this method twice but still couldn’t start simlink. Every time I opened it, it would crash
hope to get your help sir, thanks.
Hello Ian,
I have tried running the install file as admin and the app started but after signing in, I get back with the same Qt platform message…
What’s next
Regards
EDIT: As I see above Gummy Bear’s message showing some Chinese characters, I may have to specify that I am in China as well and using a VPN… May this be a reason?
Try disabling the VPN.
Ian
Still the same message related to Qt Platform with VPN disabled.
Hello,
Please review the troubleshooting points below:
-
Verify that the default browser is correctly set in your operating system settings.
-
If the default browser is set and you still cannot open it, check for any active VPN or proxy settings. If either is enabled, disable them, as they may prevent Simlink from connecting to the Navigraph server and initiating the login process.
-
Ensure that the date, time, and timezone settings on your operating system are set to synchronize automatically.
-
Confirm that Windows Defender or any other third-party antivirus software allows Simlink to access the network without blocking the application.
-
Check the operating system’s network settings to ensure access to the Navigraph server is permitted.
-
If Simlink is still unable to log in, examine your network router settings to identify any potential blockages or configurations that might be preventing access to the Navigraph server. Restart the network router if necessary.
-
If you are using a multi-language Windows operating system, please refer to this solution.
If you continue to experience issues, please let us know.
Thank you!
Best Regards,
Vishal Ahir
