Hi Rob,
No, this is fixed, and we also have confirmation from TFDi. You see no new postings here on this issue.
The main point is that this package contains 100k small files, and this takes a long time (depending on your system) to uncompress and move the files to the correct location.
Sorry, that is nothing that we have in our hands. You must wait, that’s all …
For any long-running process I’d suggest offering some form of feedback to the user, especially if we’re talking several minutes. Whether that’s a progress bar or something else doesn’t really matter, it just makes it clear the application hasn’t crashed/frozen.
If it helps you debug this issue: After 10 minutes of waiting, quitting the app from the system tray and restarting it revealed that the installation appeared to have finished despite remaining stuck on “Installing”. After restarting, the button was labelled “Remove” instead of “Installing”. Cheers
I did the same initially and all looked correct on restart. But then I came back the next day (not a new cycle) and it was once again set to “Installing”. I waited about 30 minutes and never changed from “Installing”. Restarted and it was now “Remove” … has stayed at “Remove” for several days now … validated date range via TFDi Design FMC. Tested again with this new Jan 22 cycle and it took 59 seconds.
