Stepdown fix on LSZR RNP 10

Just noticed an - I believe - error on the final approach segment of the RNP10 @LSZR:
Between the FAF (ZR700) and the MAPt (ZR701) there is an artificial waypoint coded ‘25NM’. According to the AIP plate, this is supposed to be a stepdown fix for 2D approaches.

Coding this to the procedure is super confusing because the navigator shows the distance to the next waypoint, meaning you have an indication that is not present on the plate thus need to do the math for altitude checks.

Hi,
but the fix exists also on the charts in the AIP as you see …

It’s a little bit more clearer on the Jeppesen charts:

Not sure, what do you expect now from the coding or us?

Cheers
Rixhard

Hi Rixhard,

Thanks for having a look!

“the fix exists also on the charts in the AIP” ← that’s the point, it doesn’t. It’s a stepdown ‘fix’ you see on the profile only. It’s also mistakenly shown on the Jeppesen chart.

It’s inconsistent with any other RNP procedure coding, for example:

Why are these stepdown fixes NOT included in these procedures then, but only at LSZR?

“what do you expect now from the coding or us?”
Remove the artificial ‘25NM’ waypoint from the LSZR RNP 10. Not sure if you can do that or need to report it back to the source…

Thank You and Happy Holidays!

Ah understand … We can’t remove it and we may nit remove it without any permission. We will open a case and will ask Jeppesen about this.

Happy holidays too and Merry Christmas
Thank you!!!

Richard
