I have tried multiple times to install simlink and have had no luck getting the green icon to appear in the Windows systray as you stated above. I’ve deleted via windows several times ensuring the folders were also deleted in appdata and programs dir. I only have two sims on my system, xplane and msfs. Navigraph is unable to connect to either one. I’ve tried installing with security turned off, also to no avail. I’m at my wits end (which is a very short trip as I’m not that witty). Any light you may be able to shed is greatly appreciated. I have recently been trying out the sim tool kit pro app, not sure if that has any impact on simlink. Thank you in advance.
I see that Sim Tool Kit Pro uses SimConnect which might conflict with Simlink. To confirm please completely uninstall Sim Tool Kit Pro and install from scratch latest Simlink. We can then take it from there.
I’ve completely uninstalled Sim Tool Kit Pro as well as FSE Simconnect and did an install of Simlink from scratch with the same results… no Simlink icon in Systray and Navigraph unable to connect to simulator. Oddly enough, when Simlink is installed, the Simlink settings are not automatically run, that is I have to go into the Simlink dir and run the Simlink settings application. After running the settings app I get the green check mark for the xplane sim and another oddity is the settings app auto fills a path in the P3D v.4 line (which I don’t have on my machine and never have) which is the path for my x plane .exe ! I clear the erroneous path for P3D v.4. I then check my plugin folder in x plane and see a file named "NavigraphSimlink_64.xpl 9/14/2020 19:38 XPL File 514 KB Is that the file I should be seeing in the x plane plugin folder?
The X-Plane plugin looks correctly installed, but Simlink itself doesn’t seem to be running. After restarting computer, disable any antivirus/firewall and start Simlink.
I did as you requested, restarted computer, disabled antivirus/firewall then reinstalled simlink, still no icon in systray. I did see Navigraph Simlink in task manager however did not find the .dlog file in the appdata directory!
Getting late here, will pick this back up tomorrow.
I’m back at it again. A bit more background… I have Navigraph Simlink installed on one mobile device (android phone) as well as an Ipad. I seldom use those devices but thought I would check them out. Neither of those devices could detect a running simulator. Anyway, I checked out the JSON File in the simlink directory and although I have no clue what I’m looking at, the file seems change conventions at the bottom of the file. I’ve copied and pasted a section below.
I checked again for the .dlog file you mentioned and could not find a logs dir in c:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Navigraph\Simlink\logs\simlink_xxxx.dlog
Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated. I value the moving map function as much as I do updated airac data.
Its nice to communicate with you, as your issue with Simlink and not connecting with Simulator, its most probable with application configuration.
So if you face this issue again then please delete, “.setting” file which is located at “%appdata%\Navigraph\Charts”
After delete .setting file please restart Simlink if its already run and Simlink will ask to you for login again. Just login with your Navigraph user and your Simlink is work normally.
And for Simulator, please uninstall and install Simlink PlugIn from “Simlink Plugin Setting” window.
Note: When you reinstall plugins, make sure that you close your sunning Simulators.
After successful update of Simlink PlugIn into Simulator, you can get moving map functionality when you start Simulator.
