Since I updated to the new version of Simlink yesterday (10th Dec), the Telemetry between Navigraph and Xplane12 stops working after a short period of time.
Simlink 1.1.36.1011 stops responding and the icon ‘disappears’ from the task bar, and my desktop shortcut disappears too.
If I search for the App on the PC (from Start Menu > Apps) it is not listed.
But, if I look in Control Panel > Programs and Features, it is still listed.
I’ve installed an older copy of Simlink, version 1.1.34.2901, and that works OK (aside from when you close X-Plane12 via Steam).
I’ve reinstalled / deinstalled both versions a few times, and it’s always the new version 1.1.36.1011 that stops working and ‘disappears’ from the PC.
Seeing as the older version works, I can’t see how it can be AV related, or anything else on my PC to be honest.
Thanks for the reply.
Indeed, it does have something to do with Kaspersky as I have found a log entry saying that it terminated Simlink.
But, why now, and why were previous versions not affected.
Assuming Simlink is virus free, and that it is a false positive, I created both an exclusion and added Simlink to the Trusted Apps - now it won’t even launch automatically saying that I have to manually launch it (I have no idea how).
What has changed with the Simlink code for it to now be seen as a threat?
