Hello, I am planning a route from the international airport of Quito to Madrid and it says “the flight exceeds the range of the plane” how can I solve this? The plane is a Boeing 737-800. Thanks in advance.
The great circle distance between those two airports is 4718nm.
The maximum range for the -800 is about 3200 nm and for the BBJ somewhere around 6200nm
If you are trying to plan a route on the standard -800, PAX or freighter, then you are out of luck. On the BBJ, eventhough it’s still within the range, you still have to plan for an alternate, cont and final reserve fuel(plus no one flies Great circle in still air)
Long story short. Fly a shorter route, or use a long range aircraft, or have a fuel stop somewhere on the way
