Hi there,
Does Simbrief Downloader already interact with ActiveSky FS in regards of Historic Weather Mode?
Thanks and regards,

Just a quick update…I can see that the Simbrief downloader interacts with activesky fs and sets the historical date…the problem is the new activesky for fs takes a while to download the historical weather and the simbrief active sky exporter times out and gives an error “could not verify Active Sky weather download” as active sky is still downloading the historical weather.
Hi, please see here for a workaround: Timeout problems with ActiveSky historical weather uploads - #2 by SimBrief
There is no ETA on when the downloader might be updated to support these long download times.
Best regards,
Thanks for the link…I’ll give it a try.

Just to follow up, this should be fixed in the new SimBrief Downloader version 1.8.0.
Best regards,
Thank you so much for the follow up

After the update, I have a problem downloading weather from P3D - the download reaches 40% and then nothing. It takes 2 - 3 minutes to reach this 40%. Then it stops and after a long while I have a message: Could not veryfi Active Sky weather download.
I have uninstalled and installed several times and the same thing. There was no problem with the previous version.
Is it possible to return to the previous (before 1.8)
Best regards
Grzegorz
Hi, what version of P3D are you using Active Sky with?
Can you also post your Active Sky version number? It should be displayed at the top-left of the window.
Best regards,
Hi
P3D v45 HF3 - ASP3D latest version 8557 and using Historical Weather
I have the same Active Sky version and cannot replicate this on my system. A timeout like this indicates that the current_wx_snapshot.txt
file isn’t being updated in the Active Sky weather directory.
Please browse to the C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\HiFi\ASP3D\Weather
directory and check if there is a file named current_wx_snapshot.txt
in there. Can you take a screenshot of this directory please?
Also, have you customized the “Active Sky Snapshot” or “Active Sky IP/Port” options in the SimBrief Downloader?
If so, try unchecking (disabling) these settings.
Do you have any other Active Sky versions (for other simulators) installed?
Best regards,
Please try to Uncheck the “Active Sky IP/Port” and “Active Sky Snapshot” options and try to upload Active Sky weather again.
Best regards,
Sorry for the late reply.
Unfortunately nothing has changed by unchecking these options - downloading weather is impossible downloader is now stuck at 1% and nothing happens. I have checked all accesses, firewall etc, reinstalled AS and Downloder nothing changes unfortunately, I can’t load weather into Simbrief
Now it succeeded through the option you described in the previous post: right click on Downloder: Upload weather…and it downloads the historical weather from AS and can be imported into Simbrief
It appears to be a problem on the Active Sky side. I noticed that in historical weather mode, AS sometimes has a problem downloading data for a specific date and a specific time. For example, I wanted to generate weather for August 23, 5:20 Z and got a message that AS could not download it, indicating an Internet problem. I changed the date to August 22 (same time) and AS downloaded the weather, which I was able to implement into Simbrief via Downloder.
I need to ask HiFi for support on their forum
Best regards
Ah ok, thanks for the update!
