Sim time on charts

Hello,
Would it be possible to have an option synchronizing Chart time on Simulator one?

Hello!

Hmm, please elaborate. Do you mean for the daylight terminator layer? What exactly do you want to synchronize?

The telemetry (available when using moving maps) can already show sim time.

If you were referring to the terminator, please see (and vote for) this topic:

Hi Malte, the topic you linked to was started by me.

Hello!

Yes, that is correct. Did you get a confusing email notification from this forum perhaps? I just linked to your topic in order to make sure that it is known to the OP!

Kind Regards,
Malte

:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: Yup, that’s what happened.

Just looking for some clarification here. If I am flying a FP using historical weather in the sim that is 12 hours before the current real life time and using a FP that was created for that historical time, will voting for that topic linked above add my desire that the runways available in Charts are per the historical time of my flight in the sim? This would be very helpful since right now Charts gives me runways for the current time, which may be different from those that were active 12 hours prior in my historical weather flight. Thanks!

No - that would not be the case. We only have real-time real-world weather, no historical data. The linked topic only covers syncing the simulator time with the terminator layer!

I assumed that would be the answer… but I was hopeful

In any event, your flight planning toolset is second to none and enormously helpful. Thanks for all the hard work. Maybe historical weather will be on the wish list for sometime down the road. Blue shies!

Thank you for the kind words!

Sure, maybe in the future! For reference, our current stance is that we are not considering historical weather as part of our application:

This does not mean that we’ll never do it, but at the moment, there are too many challenges and too little use for us to motivate research and development. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Malte

@PierreChassang If possible, would you mind answering the initial question?
