Signing in every session

MSFS 2024 on PC.

First-time posting so hope I have the right section etc.

I’m being asked to log into my Navigraph account each time I first use the sim. I’m not sure this is the cause, but it seems to have started after I installed a new aircraft, the PMDG 737-600.

Previously, Navigraph would remain logged in from session to session but, alas, not any more.

All the latest Navigraph addons are enabled.

Can anyone advise me, or link me to an existing solution please?

Many thanks.

Hello,

Firstly, can you make sure that your computers system time is synchronized to internet time, please. Also, rebooting your network router may be helpful also.

Thanks

Thank you, I’ve tried both these things and there hasn’t been any change.

Are you using any kind of VPN?

No, I have no VPN. This started with the installation of a new plane.

Ok, it is very unexpected behavior to isolate it down to a 3rd party aircraft installation. Do you have the same issue with other platforms too, other 3rd party aircraft integrate with Navigraph?

Also, do you see the same thing occurring with other Navigraph products like Simbrief, Charts etc? It might also be worth to check if the desktop Charts app acts in the same way.

I would also recommend trying, if possible, to connect your PC to the internet via another internet connection eg. mobile data in order to isolate your network router.

Yeah, it is very strange. It feels like one of those things which might spontaneously resolve, but I don’t quite know how yet.

To answer your questions… yes it does happen with other aircraft. From memory, it happens with any, whether add-ons or default in MSFS 2024. But it doesn’t happen with other Navigraph products like Simbrief or the desktop charts on my PC. It only seems to arise when I open the Navigraph Charts on the default EFB.

One thing I haven’t tested yet is whether the Navigraph Charts app that sits atop the sim (next to the other icons like weather and flight recorder) is susceptible to this upon first logging into the sim. When I’ve finished my current flight in an hour or so, I will check for that and let you know. I will also double check the above just to be sure.

Update:

No related apps or services affected. However, the issue persists. It asks me to authorise connection between my Navigraph account and the in-sim (i.e in the EFB) Navigraph Charts page/app.

I haven’t yet ascertained whether the Navigraph app on the top centre toolbar does the same upon first use of the sim.

Thats a good sign if no other Navigraph apps/services are affected.

Log into your Navigraph account and go to "devices” on the left panel. This shows all the authorised sessions for Navigraph services.

Sign out all the PMDG sessions here. If you have more PMDG aircraft authorised, please sign those out also.

You mentioned other aircraft are affected, can you let us know which aircraft, please? (it would be a good idea to sign these sessions also so you can test signing back in)

Another thing to try, along with the advice above:

Try “factory” resetting the PMDG EFB

  • Open the EFB and click on the 4th icon (the sliders)
  • Scroll to the end of that page and select Factory Reset
  • End the flight / Restart the sim
  • Authorise Navigraph again

Check to see if settings persist after this.

OK, I’ve worked through the above and can confirm the following:

  1. The issue only affects the default EFB. The larger Navigraph charts panel on the top centre menu bar opens straight to the maps each time, with no sign-in.
  2. I did the factory reset and then signed out and back in again on the PMDG link (I had only the one) and there was no change to the issue.
  3. All aircraft are affected, default or addon, and across all makes of addon.

This is what I see each time I access Navigraph charts in the default EFB:

Once I’ve done what it asks, I remain signed in until I shut down and then reopen MSFS 2024.

Please try:

  • Run both MSFS and Navigraph Hub normally (not as Administrator)

  • Open Navigraph Hub

  • Confirm you’re logged in

  • Keep Hub running while starting the sim

  • For Chrome / Edge

  • Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies

  • Make sure:

    • :cross_mark: “Clear cookies when closing browser” is OFF
    • :cross_mark: You are NOT blocking all third-party cookies

Cheers
Ian

Hi Ian,

Many thanks for these. I’ve been through and completed them all. I’ve also added an exception for any Navigraph webpage so that cookies are definitely allowed. And I signed out of and back into Navigraph Hub using the system tray icon (right click).

Unfortunately, the issue still persists. It’s odd because it would stand to reason that this might be a cookie issue. I will have another go in the morning and report back.

Thanks again!

Jon

Can you try isolating your community folder, just so we have that checked

Locate your Microsoft Flight Simulator folder, this is the folder you selected when you installed MSFS.

By default, MSFS installs to the following path:

  • Microsoft Store/Xbox:

    • C:\Users\[Your User Name]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community
  • Steam:

    • C:\Users\[Your User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community
  • Retail Disk:

    • C:\Users\[Your User Name]\AppData\Local\MSFSPackages\Community

Note Yours may be installed somewhere else, if it is, you will need to locate where you installed it during the download.

  1. Rename “Community” to “Community_Disabled”

  2. Create a new folder and name it “Community”

This isolates your other 3rd party add-ons and will allow you to narrow down crashes or unexpected behavior.

Thank you. I’ve been through these steps now and there’s still no change, unfortunately.

Someone replied to your post.

Hello @Mausmann !

We have identified an issue with the Charts app for the MSFS 2024 EFB specifically, which would explain why the panel works as expected for you while the EFB doesn’t.

We have fixed the issue internally and will release it soon, along with other updates. In the meantime, you can download the new version from this link:

navigraph-efb-chartsapp.zip (114.8 KB)

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Kind Regards,
Malte

Oh nice one! Thank you. I will try it now and let you know how it goes.

Quick question first: where should I place the folder you sent?

Unzip this into your MSFS2024 community folder

If you’re not sure where this folder is, start MSFS2024 → Marketplace → Library → click the little gear icon on the top right. This will show you the directory. Unzip the file Malte has provided in there.

I had wondered if that was where it should go. I put it into the Community folder and started the sim, went to the EFB and approved the Navigraph connection as before. Then I closed the EFB, quit the sim and rebooted. This time, when I went into Navigraph, it remembered me and opened without the need for sign-in. So I’m pleased to say it’s worked as planned.

Thank you for your help with this. I will reboot the sim again later and double check all is still OK but I’m sure it will be now.

Thanks a lot for your patience too! We really appreciate that.

And yes, please do let us know how it goes later!
