LNM for example has green (default) ILS ‘feathers’ showing the expected coverage of the ILS locators. This is very useful for situational awareness generally but also for setting expectations of when you are likely to pick up the nav radio audio. It also gives you a good visual appreciation of the direction of the ILS runways.
Hi! Thanks for creating this topic.
For completeness, I assume that you mean these green areas?

Thank you for the swift reply. Yes, precisely those.

Hi Gordon,
Thanks for the update.. I was tthe OP of this topic. Looking at the feathers in the link, it appears as though the ‘feathers’ range extent is directly linked to the approach waypoints whereas in the illustration in the topic you can see that the green feathers extend way beyond that. The length of the feather is normally determined by the radio coverage of the locator beacon which normally extends well beyond those waypoints. As I in intimated in my original post, this is very useful because if you are flying in VFR and trying to intercept the locator in AP heading mode, it is extremely useful to know the expected range and bearing for that matter, at which you will pick the locator up. Moreover the green colour i.e. contrasting with the DTK colour gives valuable emphasis on the locator radio coverage, whereas the existing Navigraph implementation merges into the other graphics.
Perhaps this could be considered in any update.
Kind Regards
David Watson
