When flight planning and using navaids that are associated with airports and click on the spot the airport comes up. The only way to access the navaid is to zoom way in until the navaid shows up from under the airport layer. Should be a way to select whether you want the airport or navaid (and there may be one, but I can’t find it). Hope this makes sense.
Hi! Thanks for posting.
Do you have any suggestions as to how this would be possible? We currently open what you click on, and airports have priority over navaids if they are essentially in the same location.
Kind Regards,
Malte
I thought at one time clicking on this spots it would open a dialog box asking if you want to use the airport as origin/destination or wanted to select the navaid. This to me this makes the most sense.
I select the origin and destination in the “flight” box before I search for interconnecting navaids, so, IMO, prioritizing airports when you select the spot is still somewhat backwards. (Forgive my terminology.)
I don’t use Simbrief for flight planning so I use the maps program for that role. I know what fuel the airplanes need for load and weather conditions so Simbrief for for me is an unnecessary step. That’s part of the “immersion” for me.
Thanks for your consideration.

Thanks for elaborating! We’ll take your thoughts into consideration, but this is not something that we will prioritize now. It is our understanding that in the majority of cases, users who click the airport on the map actually want the airport and not the collocated navaid.
Your suggestion seems fine, and we do something similar for airspace and OPMET reports already so it is not totally unlikely that something similar will happen for every clickable thing on the map in the future! The main counterargument to this approach is that it will inevitably result in more clicks for all users.
Again, thanks for the feedback! It is much appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Malte
Thanks for taking consideration for this wish list item and for responding back to me.
