Navidata update is locking up MSFS 2020 at begining of flight. If I take navidata out of community folder msfs works. I have removed and redownloaded the navidata files and the issue still exist. It’s like it’s stuck in this error freezes the display and won’t go any further. What can I do to fix this issue? See the arrows showing box that automatically comes up when the screen opens.
The whole screen is frozen. I can’t do anything. I have to cntl alt del and shut down flight simulator.
That looks like you have opened the SimBrief dispatch panel in “pop out” mode. You enter this mode by pressing this button:
That should not lock your screen though.
You say that this is navdata related. But you have posted in the SimBrief dispatch category in the forum.
What precisely did you remove from the community folder? The navigraph-simbrief-dispatch-2020
folder?
I just posted here since it is related to the opening of Simbrief in MSFS. I uninstalled all of the programs that deal with navigraph and it msfs worked of course with out simbrief
Could you try just removing SimBrief Dispatch?
sure give me a couple
This is, with major certainty, not an issue with any Navigraph or SimBrief package. It is likely a simulator bug with regards to handling the “pop out” state of panels. This is outside the scope of what Navigraph can affect unfortunately.
This is why I would like to narrow this down as much as possible. If the issue is fixed by just removing SimBrief dispatch, the next step would probably be to figure out a way to reset whatever the simulator remembers about the state of the panel on each reboot. I don’t know how to do that, and I can’t reproduce the issue so it will be hard to work the issue, but then we have at least narrowed things down.
That fixed it. what do we do next so I can add back the file? I just saw your comment. I guess I’m just SOL. If you know some with MSFS I can contact let me know
That’s good to know! Unfortunately, we don’t know of any way to reset this besides reinstalling the simulator. There might be other ways, but we are unaware of them!
If you want to try avoiding a complete reinstall, please post on the MSFS forums instead! I assume they would have more knowledge or ways to help you. Apologies for the inconvenience!
Luckly for me I have an image file 6 days old so reloaded everything and it is working fine now. You may want to pass the bug on the MSFS so it doesn’t’ happen to others… Thanks for your help
That’s amazing, I am happy to hear that the issue was resolved!
We have no contact with the team behind MSFS and we can’t reproduce the issue ourselves, so unfortunately there is not much we can pass on. But let’s hope it does not happen again!
Kind Regards,
Malte
