Scratch pad keys interfering with plane

Using the scratch pad in the fenix a320 on my desktop pc. When I type it controls the plane with the sims shortcut keys. Cant see a way to stop it doing that. Makes this potentially great feature unusable. Any solution for this?

For MSFS 2020 or MSFS 2024?

You might try:

Turn ON cockpit input lock

MSFS 2020:

  • Options → General → Accessibility

  • Lock interaction to cockpit = ON

MSFS 2024:

  • Options → Accessibility (or Controls depending on build)

  • Same setting (wording may vary slightly)

  • Press Scroll Lock

Thanks but I’m afraid that doesn’t work for MSFS20. That option is not in those settings. Also when I click the closest thing to it (controls to lock rather than legacy) it has no effect.

Hmmm, Ok for MSFS 2020,

You need Options → General → Accessibility → Lock interaction to cockpit

In Controls Keyboard, set up a key sequence to Toggle input focus.

You then use this to ensure keyboard input goes to the Charts scratchpad.

If all else fails,

Controls → Keyboard

  1. Remove bindings for:

    • Y (slew)

    • G (gear)

    • F (flaps)

    • any A–Z keys you notice
