I use Xplane 11 on MAC PRO late 2013 with MAC OS Sierra 10.12.6, latest macOS version on this Mac.
I subscribed to the Update Program in order to use updated IFR procedures on the G1000 on X plane BUT actual SIMBRIEF requires 10.13 Mac OS , which I cannot install .
Do you have a SIMBRIEF OR FMS DATA MANAGER version that runs on Mac OS 10.12.6 ?
Or other indications to solve the issue ?
You can use the manual installers, at the end of the downloads page:
Basically you unzip the files and place them in the correct folder.
In the case of X-Plane 11, you download and extract xplane11_native_2604.zip and place the contents of the extracted folder (*.dat files, CIFP folder etc.) in X-Plane 11 > Custom Data.
For some third-party addons, the GNS430 database may also help: download and extract xplane_customdata_native_2604.zip and place its contents (index file and navdata folder) in X-Plane 11 > Custom Data.
Hi Tim , thank you very much for your indications.
But I need more info from you if possible.
I downloaded as you suggested the file xplane11_native_2604.zip, unzipped it and inside there is the folder CIFP , and seven .dat files that I have placed in custom data folder ( see screen copy in this dropbox link Dropbox. )
BUT there are no changes in the procedures inside G1000 of Xplane 11 .; still they load for procedures of 2016 and not the ones of 2026.
May be that I have to place also in RESOURCES some file or folder from the unzipped xplane11_native_2604.zip?
Hi Friends, Have examined my situation and done some tests .
In effect I have version 11.41 and not the last 11.51
I have issues in updating as My disk is full with installed sheaves sceneries
So I tried to modify the 3 files earth awy , fix, nav and put hem in custom data and in resources folder , but nothing changed
I tried also to understand if I have 2 Xplane 11 , without however understand enough
I launch Xplane 11 from the icon on the dock , I see to point to the Folders ion Xplane 11 where there is no custom data earth-nav ecc and not resources CIFP his ,but in effect all the mods that I installed are in the XPLANE 11 folders installed on the desktop .
I need to understand more .
Also in the Readme in custom data folder it refers to a file FAA… that I do not have as I dowloaded from Navigraph and not FAA .
I attach a link to a dropbox folder where I put my actual screen copies
A this point, the easiest might be to purchase an external drive and move some of the scenery there (it can easily be brought back to the internal drive if and when needed). SSDs are expensive nowadays but if it’s only to move things out of the way an electro-mechanical drive (i.e. a traditional HDD) will do the trick just fine and cost a lot less (and can always be re-used later for other purposes e.g. backups).
Regarding the two X-Planes, I will be able to better help when I get back home later today or tomorrow (currently traveling) and have access to my computer.
Above, I right-clicked on the Safari icon in the Dock. If you do the same with the X-Plane in your Dock, and click on Show in Finder, then it will open a new Finder window showing the X-Plane.app in its enclosing folder.
If you share a screenshot of said Finder window, we can help you locate where the X-Plane from your Dock is installed.
It would also help if you right-click in the title bar of said Finder window before taking the screenshot, like so:
Thanks .
In same time I have looked inside the scenery aspect and I have found the correct way to move them to an external Drive to be able to upgrade to r55, using the Symbolic links to the external Drive from the scenery folder in order to free space in the macos main hdd.
There is nothing urgent in this but it is good to on in the Solution step by step .
And in same time I also try to keep flying within very good simulator even un 11 years old
Sorry for delay but I have good updates even if issue not solved
I have identified the the app Xplane11 that I am using from the dock is rather second that you indicate #2] Users > mac > Desktop > XPLANE 11 > X-Plane 11 . I have succeeded in upgrading this to 11.55 and I have checked that the script in the dat lines are now the same that you sent me apart that earth_astro.dat was not upgraded ( it is from sept 2016. and totally different from the the astronomical you sent me ). But when invoking the PROC for instance the the FPL of the G1000 in the C 172 plane it reports NONE procedure seen in dropbox folder , even if I have copied the new CIFP folder in the resource folder of the correct Xplane 11 folder . I may attach a drop box link to the images screen copies but I get an error message hidden by community flag ( if possible let me know how I may correct it on order to send the dropbox, thanks )
I have sent already in last messages the link to dropbox folder with screen copies but now the system reports an errore that I cannot send links. I can send the link to another email address in case , thanks
in order to try to simplify the road to a solution , I have installed a new fresh copy of Xplane on my external disk Lacie in order to test in this extra copy all possible solution with your support help. See my screen copy . Do you think this could help us to solve the issue that I still have ? thanks and regards
That might confuse the simulator; you can restore the old/default cycle in default data using he X-Plane Updater application instead (and allowing it to overwrite files if/when prompted).
