Request to Add SEQU – Old Mariscal Sucre International Airport to SimBrief

Hello,

Would it be possible to add SEQU Old Mariscal Sucre International Airport to the SimBrief database? I know the airport is no longer operational, similar to Kai Tak, but Kai Tak is available in SimBrief while SEQU is not. It would be great to have SEQU included as well, so we can fly to it in the simulator.

Currently, SimBrief reports that SEQU does not exist in the database.

Thank you!

Hi,
Thank you for your comment/request …

The question for me is, what is so “special” to add this outdated airport, like the old IGS approach, into Kai Tak? Why won´t you use the new Mariscal Surce Intl (SEQM)?

Cheers,
Richard

Hi Richard,

Thanks for the reply!

I do use the new airport (SEQM), but I would also like to use the old one. I enjoy recreating older flights, such as Lufthansa’s MD-11 operations, and SEQU was an important part of that era. The airport had a very unique and beautiful approach descending over the mountains and then over the city, in my opinion even more interesting than the new airport’s approach.

That’s why it would be great to have SEQU available in SimBrief as well, just like other closed airports that are still included for historical flying.

Thanks again!

Paul

Thanks, Paul. Let me check this. When we add such data, it is not only in Simbrief …
I will do this in the next couple of weeks.

Thank you very much,
Richard

Thank you very much for looking into it! I really appreciate it.Looking forward to it whenever it’s possible,no rush.

Thanks again!
