I don’t understand why the downloader needs to keep runnning after the flightplan is downloaded to where it is going. Other parts of the simbrief/navigraph experience, yes. But the downloader does one job, sending a file to the correct location. After that, its job is done until it is manually called upon to send another newly generated or modified flightplan. It seems like an unnecessary use of computing power when it has no other task to complete.
Hi, the main intent of the Downloader is to automatically detect whenever you create a new flight plan on SimBrief, and either automatically export the files for you or offer to do so by clicking the prompt at the bottom right of the screen. For this, it needs to stay running.
When the program is minimized, it uses very little resources. But you can also close it completely when you are not using it by right-clicking icon in your task bar at the bottom right.
