Real world routes

I’ve recently come across to SimBrief from PFPX after support was completely withdrawn earlier this year. Since the introduction of real world routes for Europe it’ve had much more luck creating IFPS compliant OFPs. I’ve been reluctant in the past because there simply aren’t enough custom routing tools etc to make this reliably straightforward.

With the latest AIRAC release there have been quite a few changes to airways and waypoints in Europe and now many of those ‘real’ routes aren’t valid. Will they be updated or are they now obsolete? What is the source of these routes? Were they a one-off addition or something that gets added regularly?

With PFPX, upon each AIRAC install the system ran an automatic check of all saved routes to ensure AIRAC compliance. It was very easy to detect which waypoints or airways needed changing or replacing in order to quickly fix a route. If I use an outdated route in SimBrief and try to do the same, it’s almost impossible to work out what’s changed.

Hi, yes the real-world routes will be updated automatically. However this process will only start in a few days (to give some time so that enough real-world flights have operated).

Best regards,

Why not continue to use PFPX for that purpose.

Even realworld routes may not be valid at the date/time you choose to fly, easily resolved in PFPX to adjust flight levels and avoid restrictions.
