How can I get actual fuel usage to match projected fuel usage
I fly (virtually) a Hot Start Challenger 650
So where would I find the information I need
So How did I solve it? The solution doesn’t work for me
Hi, the easiest way is to do the following steps:
- Plan a long flight in SimBrief, preferably over 3 hours long.
- Note the amount of fuel burn that is planned by SimBrief.
- Load the sim and start your flight. Note how much fuel you have before you depart.
- Fly your flight from takeoff to landing. Note how much fuel is left on board after you land.
- Subtract the fuel on board after landing from the fuel on board before departure to get that actual burn.
- Divide the actual burn you saw in the sim by the planned burn in your SimBrief flight plan.
For example, lets say your SimBrief flight plan showed a burn of 10,000 lbs. But after your flight, you calculated that you burned 12,000 lbs. 12,000 / 10,000 = 1.2, or 120%.
So we need to increase SimBrief’s fuel calculations by 20% to match the sim. You accomplish this by setting the “Fuel Factor” option to “P20” (Plus 20%):
There is no way (at least through SimBrief) to increase or reduce the aircraft’s actual burn in the sim. For this you should reach out to Hot Start support.
Best regards,
Ok, thanks, I’ll try that
