Plan Route based on Arrival Time

Sometimes I plan flights around real life goings on (work, house work etc.), and plan my flights around what time I want to be landing.

Currently to do that, I have to create a flight, look at the duration, then subtract that duration from the arrival time I want and then generate a new flight with the departure time I have worked out.

It would be good if we could plan routes based on the arrival time, as well as the departure time. In my situation above it would also save a generated flight.

We have that at work, it’s called Required Time of Arrival. It will ATTEMPT to find an altitude profile to get to the destination within 5 minutes of schedule with a given cost index. A lot of people don’t like it as it has a tendency to porpoise the altitudes as it’s essentially chasing the ground speed. I think, in our current solution, it’s more theoretical than something we can solidly depend upon.

it’s definitely not an easy button.
