Passangers on Auto - how is it calculated?

Hi there,

short question (out of interest):

when you set the pax load to auto - how is the load generated? Is it just pure random (up to max load of the aircraft profile)? Or are there more calculations involved?

The reason I ask: I have the impression that most of the auto pax loads are on the lower side. E.g. if your aircraft has 160 pax max, the auto load goes more often in the ~100 (+/- 20) direction than near the max pax direction (140 to 160 pax). It’s just a feeling. I can’t verify that.
That’s why I ask.

Thx for answers.

Hello, I think there is an algorithm on times of departure as well. Time of departure has something to do with it.

Yeah, I thought maybe also day of the week, or season, or airline, or something like that.

I’m really no expert in airliner business. But I wonder if planes that are more on the “filled” side, would be more realisitic. Since airlines always evaluate their routes and times to get every plane as filled as it could be.

When I fly as a passenger, I rarely have planes only half or 2/3 filled (business and vacation). But that actually could be the time of the day, I regulary fly. And in sim, I often fly at ‘non rush hour’ times (like in the mids of a day or so).

But thanks for your answer anyway. :slightly_smiling_face:
