Currently when you want to view departures you can only view one at a time by selecting the departures available for a chosen runway. My suggestion is to create an option checkbox which would enable you to see all available departures for a given runway at once, thus enabling the user to select the one which best fits the chosen route. Turning this option off (unchecking it) would revert the view to the selected departure. This would allow viewing multiple departures in the same manner as approach patterns.
It looks like that screenshot is of EDDK with RWY 14L filter.
Steve H wants to show SID’s for all runways when one isn’t selected.
As I said at Departures not displayed on map - #4 by Ian “We don’t display all runway departures at the same time as it would be too cluttered”. We shall review this but likely to be “too cluttered”.
For example, if we combined the following on the one chart, it would be very busy indeed and difficult to select some SID’s :
We shall look at the algorithm for choosing runway filter when one hasn’t been chosen - e.g. one with 2 or more procedures, one with most procedures, runway chosen by winds etc.
Thank you so much for taking a look at this. I think I may have been a bit premature in throwing my request at you. I took another look and see now that when you select “Procedures” the app displays all of the sids available for one, arbitrarily selected, runway. However if that runway is not in use or you prefer to use another you need to select one from the filtered runways list. Now you can see all sids available for that runway… which makes sense. Seeing all possible SIDs at one time at a large airport like this (I am looking at KMCO, Orlando) would result in a multi-colored ball of tangled yarn. I think your conclusion that it would be too cluttered is probably accurate. Actually I was comparing this to selecting an approach pattern which, again, is based on selecting one runway and showing all available patterns for that runway. Same for STARs. So the problem here is not how Navigraph designed the app, it’s how I misinterpreted its use. Thanks again for taking the time to explore this and revealing how the app actually works. Much appreciated.
