Hi, I have just bought the Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo yoke and throttle. I have set up the Cessna 172 in MSFS2020 according to the best information I can find for setting the plane up. However, the max revs I can achieve is 2330, so when I try to fly climbs I don’t have enough power to climb. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it.
Many thanks
Hello,
Thats quite a strange one. I cannot reproduce this with the Honeycomb setup I have.
I would suggest
- Check all bindings and see if there are any conflicts, particularly with the start selector (you may be operating on only one magneto)
- Check that the Bravo is calibrated correctly
- Reset everything back to MSFS2020 default to see if the default throttle range achieves 2600RPM
Hi Gordon
Many thanks for the reply. I will check out these suggestions and see if it makes a difference. Also, check some other single engine planes and see if they are the same or not.

Hi Gordon,
I have tried your suggestions to no avail. I have made sure all assistance options are off. I have tried a number of different prop planes from a Diamond to a Caravan. All of these will go to full throttle and give a warning about being in the red zone. I have checked the Bravo settings using DIView. This shows the throttle and mixture levers move from 0 to 100% as expected. In the 172 the idle revs are 630 and they only increase when the throttle lever is at 56%. This is with the mixture at max. I need to check the idle speeds and throttle %ages, in the other planes, to see when the revs increase as the throttle lever is moved. I will let you know how I get on.

Hello,
Thank you very much for the testing. I’ll forward this to the Academy team since I cannot reproduce it, hopefully they can try also.
Hi
Many thanks for your reply.

Hi
Sorry haven’t been able to check the other aircraft until now. I was using max mixture and checking when the throttle registered the first change when moving the Honeycomb Bravo Throttle. My results are:-
DIamond DA40 TDI. 57%
Robin CAP10. 54.5%
Beech Bonanza G36. 53%
XCub. 52%
Looks like they are all round about the same value as the 172, but they all go to max throttle value.
Hope this might be useful.
Cheers

Hello,
Just following up about this issue since it is very niche and very difficult to reproduce. I just want to confirm that
- Mixture is full rich - confirm this via comparing the hardware mixture lever versus the in-game lever.
- The throttle position is sensible eg. the max throttle position in-game matches the hardware lever position.
We need to be fully confident that no hardware calibration issues exist if we are to make any changes to the lesson file variables.
Hi Gordon
As far as I can remember I checked everything you suggested previously. I check the throttle position and mixture and checked them against DiView.exe program. As far as I could make out everything was set up correctly, but despite this pushing the throttle lever to max. Did not give me max revs in the Cessna. Other aircraft did seem to work correctly. I think I sent you my results at the time of testing.
Many thanks

I really appreciate the feedback here, its a very strange scenario that we’re having a lot of trouble reproducing, some can and some cannot.
We’re continuing the troubleshooting, though.
Hi Gordon
Many Thanks for the update. Good to know that some others can see the same problem.
