No ifr mode?

Tried everything suggested but charts will not let me change the mode to ifr. Even when I import an ifr flight plan from Simbrief it gives it in vfr mode

Hi…,

If you mean changing the map preset to IFR instead of VFR:

What happens when you select High IFR ?

Are you using Charts Desktop or Charts Cloud ?

Please post screenshots showing the issue using Guide to posting Screenshots.

In the General tab it shows flight as being vfr even when I import a Simbrief ifr flight plan. In options it shows the flight as being ifr. Since in the General tab it’s vfr, I can’t have SIDs or anything ifr?

That setting sets UI defaults. It doesn’t affect the ability to see SID’s.

Please post the flight plan in copiable text form so we can load it.

That’s just the current weather conditions at the airport. If you click on the green pill, it takes you to the METAR report from which said conditions were determined.

It’s like the green (or other color, depending on weather conditions) pill you would see on e.g. SkyVector.

What is a “copiable text form” lol sorry not familiar with this.

Something like

CYUL/24L DCT YUL DCT CYHU/24R

Note that CYUL has only one SID - Montreal 5 DEP, which has vectors after runway heading.

I think I found my problem. Thank you so much for your time. I figured that I can plan all my ifr procedures “even” if in the general tab it says “vfr”. But I still wonder why lolll

You are welcome. Glad it is resolved.

Happy flying.

Ian

There is no indicator of the type of flight on the general tab. I’ve explained the meaning of the (unralated) weather dot in a post above

Tim

I’m so sorry. I saw the spinning wheel for an ad on your post and disregarded it as simply an advertisement and did not read the rest. It would have saved me a lot of searching. Thanks for the explanation.
