Simulator Version
X-Plane 11
Operating System
Windows 11
Description of the Issue
Hi!I have 300mb/s internet connection but when I start my simulator with the Navigraph Simlink addon the bandwidth drops to 9.41 mb download and 0.28 mb upload speeds. Without Navigraph Simlink the bandwidth stays 298 mb download and 295 mb upload speeds. The drop in bandwidth makes it very different to use Navigraph and Vatsim together, so I am forced to close the Simlink while I am flying simulator. Is there any existing solution to this problem?

From what I can see, nothing in the Simlink logs point to excessive bandwidth, all that is happening there is simple authorisiation handshakes
OIDC_refresh_tokens
authorization_code_flow
hybrid_flow
followed by the SIMULATOR_EXIT
Some possible culprits could be you running a speed test in your browser, a security suite inspecting traffic (like Kaspersky/Bitdefender/Norton).
If you are using WiFi and X-Plane is broadcasting at a high rate, that could affect the whole network. Check your “Data Output” settings in X-Plane.
If you are using a VPN/tunnel, this also has the capacity to flood a network.
Hi.
Thanks for the answer.
It’s funny enough that on both cases, with and without simlink I used Ookla’s desktop app to measure the bandwidth.
I am not using WiFi and I am not at high rate.
I installed simlink and to make thing littlebit more odd, everytime when I start X-plane, my bandwidth drops which it didn’t do before simlink installation. I was forced to delete my installation and I am going to try with a clean install.
Sure, though make sure that when you uninstall, you catch any remnant config files that can hang around, though I can say with very high certainty that Simlink would not be a culprit.
Please do let us know how it goes!
