Navigraph EFB app not centered on aircraft when using <tab>

Hi!

Does anyone have any thoughts on this problem?

Observed behaviour: I’ve made a VFR flightplan in the Navigraph desktop app. In MSFS 2024, I use (tab) to bring up the EFB, choose the Navigraph EFB app, and select my route. I center on my aircraft so I can see the next couple of legs. I use (tab) to close the EFB and, when I need to check again, I use (tab) to open the EFB again. However, the view is either zoomed out to show the entire route, or it is locked on my starting airport. Sometimes it is still correctly centered on my aircraft.

Preferred behaviour: when I use (tab) to open the EFB, I would like the Navigraph EFB app to be centered on my aircraft at my present location, with the same zoom level as when I closed the app.

pressing TAB closes the display

and pressing TAB again opens it at the same place and zoom.

Hi Ian. Thanks for your reply. I will try to set up a testing routine so I can demonstrate this for you pictorially. But, actually, it’s so simple:

  1. When I (tab) to close the EFB app, the Navigraph view is zoomed in and centered on my aircraft.
  2. When I (tab) to open the EFB app, the Navigraph view is zoomed out and no longer centered on my aircraft.

My colleague and I have the same no change with TAB TAB. Please post screenshots to compare.

Just so we’re all on the same page, and so we can investigate further can you please try the following reproduction steps,

  1. Create and load your flight plan on the EFB app in MSFS2024
  2. Get airbourne and fly intil you’re well clear of the departure airport (like 20nm or so)
  3. Center and zoom the map on your aircraft the way you normally would
  4. Press TAB to close the EFB
  5. Press TAB again to reopen it
  6. Note whether the map is still centered on your aircraft, or if it has jumped back to the departure airport or zoomed out to show the whole route.

Also, a few more things that would help to narrow it down,

  • When you center on your aircraft, are you using the “follow/center on ownship” button? or panning/zooming?
  • What version of MSFS2024 and what version of the EFB app do you have installed?
  • If you have MSFS2020 available, does this behave any differently?

Hi! Thanks for your interest in this.

I have already demonstrated Points 1 to 6 in this thread. Yes, I always ask for the map to be centered on my aircraft, as you can see in the first screenshot. The second screenshot ALSO shows the highlighted icon for centering on my aircraft, even though the view has reverted back to the departure airport.

To answer your other questions:

  • I am using “follow/center on own aircraft”
  • I am using the live version of MSFS 2026 SU6 (not SU7 Beta)
  • I no longer use MSFS 2020, and it is uninstalled from my system
