Navigation data halts XP 12

Hello I think we have gone full circle with no change.

There is no update button in Steam for XP12

Best Dudley

Back in the day, Navigraph had an archive which we could just unzip into the appropriate directory, solved many problems with FSX. I can’t find any such facility now. Am I wrong?

Sorry Dudley, but its hard to help you when you don’t follow our instruction as expected.

The message said that there is still a Custom Data folder with wrong data inside and when you read my instructions and when you would follow it, this message wouldn“t pop up because you should delete this folder.

Therefore, that I don“t know the status of your system now, I can only recommend to make a complete re-install of XP12 from scratch. We are willing to help where we can but it is impossible to help, when you don“t follow our steps and I have asked for it that you follow exactly this order in my posting before.

Anyway, please un-install X-Plane 12 and make a complete, clean re-installation. When it“s done, and your X-Plane 12 installation starts without any error-message, please contact us again to solve the other issues.

Thank you,
Richard

I have installed a vanilla copy of XP12 on it’s own drive, I have uninstalled the other installation. What should I do now?

Great, and when you start your new X-Plane 12 installation, you don“t receive any error messages, like before, correct?

Cheers,
Richard

That is so. Best Dudley

Great, well done …

Now, goto the FMS Data Manager and do following:

Goto → Settings and check, if the X-Plane 12 path is the same as your installation path (it should)

When the path is correct:
Goto → Addon Mappings → press the Scan button

A new line should be added with X-Plane 12 <XP12>\Custom Data\ and a blue bar with ā€œAutomaticā€ in it.

When this is the case → press Save and wait till the green bars on the top are gone.

Goto → Addon List → select the checkbox in the XP12 line and make the update

When it“s done - close the FMS Data Manager and start XP12

Cheers,
Richard

Hi Richard XP12 is starting fine. I have installed my FF aircraft, and they aren’t being found, despite putting a version.ini file in the main aircraft directory (reading other threads).

Hi again Dudley,
thanks for the feedback - so that means, we can close part 1 … you have updated X-Plane 12 now and donĀ“t get any error messages? Right?

To XP12 FF A320 - I have just found out, that I have made a mistake in the search pattern for the auto-detection. So please be patience, we are currently try to fix this. Please standby … I will come back as soon the files are updated internally.

Thank you,
Richard

Good, thank you. My Jar design A330 isn’t detected either. I don’t remember if it has a special format for FMS data.

Thanks Dudley

Not all addons can be detected automatically because some share the data and therefore there is no unique search-pattern possible.

For the JAR design you must add it manually via +Add → then scroll down the list till X-Plane GNS430, … and select the Install into ... → X-Plane 12 → press the Save button

Cheers,
Richard

Hi Dudley,
the XP12 FF A320 search pattern should be fixed now.

  1. Please close the FMS Data Manager and re-open it.
  2. goto Addon Mappings → press the Scan button
  3. now you should see the XP12 FlightFactor A320 line → press Save
  4. goto Addon List and make the update

Cheers,
Richard
