Navdata Problem MSFS24

Hi guys, For the past 10 days, I’ve been having massive problems with the navigation data. This means I can no longer perform any flights in Headwind 330 Neo or the default 330 INI file. I’ve already tried countless things to fix the problem, including: adding package order hints to every add-on, reinstalling, removing and reinstalling the navigation data, and deleting the WASM folder and caches. Nothing has worked. I then completely removed all my third-party add-ons, including the Navigraph data, and only used Headwind 330 Neo as an add-on, but with custom MSFS navigation data. Everything worked fine there, and I was able to load a flight plan, which hadn’t worked before. Then I added ONLY the Navigraph navigation data (so the community folder contained ONLY the Headwind aircraft and the Navigraph folders), and immediately loading the flight plan via the tablet in the aircraft using SimBrief stopped working again. So the problem lies somewhere with the Navigraph navigation data and not with my add-ons. It’s similar with the Ini 330: there I can use SIDS and other airport data without any problems without the Navigraph data, but with the data, I don’t get any SIDS or ILS data displayed, and it says “Airport not in Database”. What am I doing wrong? The unusual thing is that this only happens with the two aircraft mentioned. Everything works normally with all Fenix, PMDG, and Payware Ini aircraft.

Hi,
Thanks for your report …

Just to have the same initial starting point:

  1. You are using the stable version of MSFS2024, not the current SU5 beta. Correct?

  2. Your community folder is empty (excluding your Headwind aircraft and the Navigraph AIRAC cycle). So, no 3rd party sceneries, mods, or similar are installed. Correct?

  3. You have deleted your content.xml file, and have restarted your sim again to rebuild it automatically. Correct?

  4. The flightplan was created from Simbrief with the current/effective AIRAC cycle 2602. Correct?

A few questions about your workflow:

  • How do you load the flightplan into the Headwind A330 neo?
  • Have you tried to enter it manually?

You wrote, “Airport not in Database.” I´m curious which airport this was, and which airport identifier it used?

Last, please can you give us a flightplan example that you have used which is not working (best in text format, so that we can try). I´m honest: with my knowledge here and over the past 2 years with MSFS2024, nearly 99% of such issues are due to incompatible packages with the current MSFS2024 version. I’ll check when I have all the information from you.

Thank you very much,
Richard

Hello, thank you for your reply:

  1. I’m currently using the beta version, but the problem existed even before that.

  2. I tried it once as described: Community folder completely empty except for Headwind = no problems. Community folder completely empty except for Headwind and Navigraph data = problems. This led me to conclude that the problem lies somewhere in between. I usually have many other third-party airports and mods installed, but as mentioned above, I removed them for the test.

  3. I haven’t done that yet because I’m unsure which file I need to delete. I have the Steam version.

  4. Yes, both SimBrief and MSFS via the Hub were on the latest AIRAC.

I load the flight plan into Headwind/Ini 330 as follows: I create a flight plan on SimBrief, start MSFS, go to the departure airport, start the aircraft in cold and dark, boot up the systems, go to the aircraft’s tablet (where I have SimBrief connected), and then load the flightplan via “Import from SimBrief.” The flight plan is then displayed in the tablet, showing departure airport, destination, and times. However, an error message immediately appears in the Headwind tablet (see screenshot, that was a few days ago with the old AIRAC). Then I go to the onboard computer, click on “Import Flight Plan,” and the computer loads a plan in Headwind, but this plan only consists of waypoints like “L1, L2,” and so on. With INI 330, the flight plan loads correctly with all waypoints, but I don’t have SIDS or ILS data, and it says “airport not in database.”

I just tried this with INI 330. I wanted to fly from EDDF (Aerosoft version) to KRDU (PACSIM version). As I said, the flight plan loaded correctly there, but without SIDS.

EDDF/18 N0468F380 OBOK3L OBOKA Z28 DIBIR DCT RAVLO Y70 OTBED DCT NISBI DCT DOPEK DCT ARTIX DCT MOGMO DCT MAMUL L60 PENIL M144 BAGSO DCT VENER/M082F380 DCT 55N020W 55N030W 54N040W 52N050W DCT TUDEP/N0482F380 N526A TOPPS/N0470F400 DCT BEEKN Q439 RIFLE Q167 ZJAAY TAQLE3 KRDU/23L

It’s strange because I never had any problems with the navigation data before with any of my add-ons. The problem appeared overnight, without me changing anything.

Hi again,
I have tested this now in the stable MSFS 2024 version with the stable Headwinds A330 aircraft and I get no error:

Here, the EFB after the import from Simbrief:

%
… and hereafter the RTE-uplink in the FMC:

All waypoints are in the list and correct. The SIDs/STARs will only be shown in the EFB but not directly in the MCDU, but this is not an error - this is normal, what I know, and reflects the real-world cockpit workflow.

All in all, it seems either an issue with the MSFS2024 beta or with your Headwinds beta. When I use both in the stable version, I can´t see any mistakes, nor “airport not in database”, nor any other issues. Sorry, not reproducible on my side.

Cheers,
Richard

I’ve now switched to the latest stable version of MSFS and Headwind 330. Unfortunately, I’m still having the same problem as before.

Hi,
Can you make a screenshot of your Selections in SimBrief please:

Thank you,
Richard

Thank you, sorry I have forgotten to request more in my previous mail

Please post a screenshot of your community-folder + upload your content.xml file here.
<drive>\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\<Steam Username Folder>

Cheers
Richard

Thank you.

You will see from the Content XML file that I have many add-ons, but they are all compatible with MSFS 24. Also:

I’ve now completely reinstalled MSFS. Without any add-ons, the INI 330 worked perfectly. Also the Headwind 330, the ONLY add-on in addition to the two third-party scenery packages EDDF and KRDU (as mentioned above), works without any problems.

However, when I add the Navigraph data via the Nav Hub (so the Community folder contains ONLY the stable version Headwind 330 aircraft, the two 3rd party airports, and the current Navigraph folders), the Headwind aircraft doesn’t load the flight plan correctly into the onboard computer. The problem MUST therefore lie between the Navigraph data and the Headwind aircraft and has nothing to do with my other add-ons, as these are currently not installed.

Content.xml (184.8 KB)

Sorry, but this is very confusing now.

Please, remove the two scenery packages now and try it again. There is no issue, as you see in my screenshots.

We also see no reports here, nor any tickets indicating any issues. As I have written before, in 99% of such cases, an incompatible package is the culprit. Believe it or not, that is my experience over the last 4 years.

Cheers
Richard

Okay. I’ve now removed both scenery packages. The Community folder now contains ONLY the Headwind 330 and the two Navigraph folders.

The problem persists! As I said, I completely reinstalled MSFS, and only these three add-ons are installed now. Watch the video I made; I don’t know what else to do…

Incidentally, the Ini 330 doesn’t work with Navigraph’s navigation data either. The aircraft also functioned perfectly fine WITHOUT the Navigraph data. However, with that data, I don’t get any SIDS or ILS information, as you can see in the second video.

I’m getting really frustrated with Navigraph; I pay money for this stuff!

So, you have a clean installation now, right? Without any addons installed, excluding which you have mentioned in your posting before. Can you upload your content.xml file again please.

Thank you,
Richard

Stop, no you wrote that you have re-installed the MSFS and after that you still have upload the content.xml file. The question is, why are so many 3rd party packages are included when you have a clean installation?

From where are these packages? Can you delete the file please, re-start the sim and can you re-upload this file again here please. I´m still sure, that this is a package issue …

Cheers,
Richard

I don’t know why the files are still in the content xml file after the new installation. Should I delete the entire file or just the contents of it?

No, the entire file please - when you re-start the sim, this file will be re-created automatically. Please be sure, that you delete the correct content.xml file in the stream-user folder (before SU3 or 4 it was a folder up, therefore).

Thank you,
Richard

Thank you!! Deleting the content XML file solved the problem. I’m back on the MSFS 24 Beta now, and with all my add-ons installed, I can load flight plans into Headwind again. So thank you!
