What I expected to happen.
When I install the Navdata through the navigraph hub, the navdata is installed, the Update button is changed to Removed, the plane launches successfully with current nav data
What actually happened
After I install the navdata through Navigraph Hub, the button changes to removed but shortly after it reverts to “Install”
The plane fails to properly launch with a WASM crash error.
I tracked the error to the installer removing milviz-t6a\Data\GPSData directory and then not adding any replacement in its place. Once the add one looks for its navdata and does not find it, it crashes
Hi,
Thank you for your report … We will investigate
We had this in the last cycle too, I guess - we are still in contact with Milviz to find a proper solution for that. Please be patient.
I would have replied in the two previous threads on the same issue unless they were closed already, but the issue with the T-6A update remains. Now, not knowing what exactly happens in the background, to me as a user it seems that the Hub just has an incorrect install path for this add-on navdata files, but it might be more complicated than that, or not?
When updating via the Hub, instead of placing the new navdata in milviz-t6a/Data/GPSData folder, the new Data/GPSData folder is placed in Community folder root and the GPSData folder in milviz-t6a/Data gets deleted.
There is a trick to solve this by backing up the GPSData folder, installing the navdata update, merging the old and new files, and placing it back to where it belongs, so the files do work when placed correctly.
Both parties say they have reach out to the other or are discussing this but so far it has not led anywhere.
No probs, it should work now… I tested it on my system, and the files are now copied into the correct folder. Sorry for the trouble, and thanks for the report and the hint to the solution!
I can confirm the data is now inserted in the right place and it works, thanks!
The update will, however, delete two files (User Waypoints.FFUWP, Waypoints.kml) from GPSData folder. Not sure and have not tested whether those missing will cause issues if you try to save a user waypoint etc. or will they be recreated by the aircraft GPS, but the aircraft seem to load fine without them. Also, if you remove the Navigraph update via the Hub, then the GPSData folder will be deleted and the aircraft rendered broken.
That’s an addon issue because Blackbirds has no seperate default data folder (they use only the GPSData folder), unlike most other addons, so when you remove the files via the Hub, you have no data left. That’s nothing we can handle, sorry.
