MSFS Challenges Cockpit default view

I have been and really enjoying the Navigraph Academy course. Excellent course Navigraph team.

I have completed VFR phase 1 lessons and exam, with no issues (Note: been using Track-IR successfully). I had started phase 2 lesson Ground Operations (completed). Was really keen to complete phase 2 to achieve my VPPL but when I launched the sim to start cross country navigation, The default cockpit home view is locked view to looking at right door and I am unable to change this default home view in the cockpit view. I can still use track IR to look around but the default or home view in the cockpit is set to Fixed view locked in camera type, view locked to the right door.

I did test this with other challenges and the same problem, so this is not a Academy issue and looks to be a bug with MSFS 24.

This is very frustrating as it is preventing me from completing my VFR VPPL.

Posting here to see if Navigraph are aware of the issue and to check if the team knows of a fix.

Desperately want to complete my VPPL (VFR) and then move on to next course. I am learning so much from Navigraph Academy.

Please advise or assist if possible.

I tried to reproduce the camera issue for the cross country navigation course and was not able to reproduce it. It really does not seem to be a Navigraph related issue but there might be a few things you can try.

First to verify:

  • Do you have the same issue in free flight?
  • If yes, does the issue occur when you choose other airplanes than the Cessna 172 Skyhawk?

You can try the following steps:

  • Check your keybindings for VFR PILOT VIEW SAFE and VFR PILOT VIEW RESET. It happened to me before that my view with TrackIR got stuck in an odd position after accidentally pressing the safe key. Using the reset key should do the trick though.
  • Have you checked your profiles and curves in TrackIR setup? Resetting them or creating a new profile could help.

Thank you for the reply and the guidance.

The issue is not being experienced in free flight only when starting a challenge (any challenge) I tried other default challenges and different aircraft all the same result. Hence my thinking this is not a Navigraph Academy issue.

I will try your suggestions and feedback.
