Hello,
I am encountering intermittent issues with missing navigation aids and procedures in MSFS 2024 while using Navigraph data. Despite ensuring that all data is updated via Navigraph Hub and launching the simulator correctly, certain VORs, ILS, and approach waypoints are missing. For example, at GMMB airport, tuning to the BNS VOR frequency 117.45 sometimes yields no signal, and the VOR is absent from the map. Additionally, when loading approaches, waypoints are sometimes missing, displaying only the runway (e.g., RW32) without other waypoints.
Interestingly, these issues are not consistent; on some occasions, all navigation aids and procedures load correctly without any changes to my setup.
Steps Taken to Resolve:
Logged into Navigraph Charts and Navigraph Hub, ensuring all data is updated.
Launched MSFS 2024 after updating.
Searched the Navigraph forum for similar issues but did not find a solution.
I have attached images illustrating these issues for further clarification.
Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Any guidance or solutions would be greatly appreciated.
Hi,
I have tried to reproduce it, but I can´t sorry. Have you installed any 3rd party scenery, or do you use only the stock sceneries from MSFS2024 SU1?
In most cases, this is an issue with not 100% compatible 3rd party sceneries for SU1. Also, SU1 doesn´t 100% support the correct loading order of the 3rd party sceneries, which can result in such issues, but this is fixed with SU2 (at least with the latest beta;-)).
So, do you have any 3rd party sceneries installed?
Thanks for your input. I checked my setup, and I haven’t installed any third-party scenery. I only have the ORBX DA42Vi aircraft, which I don’t think would affect the navigation data. Additionally, I found a folder named “prepar3D v5 add-ons” in my documents, I don’t know if it’s related or not. I also looked through the MSFS packages and didn’t find any third-party scenery installed.
Hi Fouad,
No, the P3D folder/files are unrelated to the MSFS2024 and don´t influence it. Can you make a screenshot of your MSFS2024\Community folder, please?
Thank you,
Richard
PS: no, I think too that the ORBX DA42Vi has no effect of the navigation data
Is it this one you are looking for
It’s in :
C:\Users\xpfou\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community
Great, yes, it is … please can you remove (only temporarily) … all folders excluding:
cows-da42 navigraph-nav-base navigraph-nav-jepp
So, in other words, all other navigraph-* folders exclude both navata folders.
Please restart the sim and look in the EFB if you now find the BNS navaid.
I followed your instructions and temporarily removed all Navigraph folders except cows-da42, navigraph-nav-base and navigraph-nav-jepp, but nothing changed.
However, when I did the opposite—restoring all folders and removing only navigraph-nav-base and navigraph-nav-jepp—the problem was solved, and I could find the BNS VOR in the EFB.
Hi, again Fouad,
First of all, thank you very much for your effort here and your help … when you do the opposite, it’s clear because then the sim uses the default stock navdata.
But this is the case, and I will find out what happened behind it. One last try, please:
Please remove ALL folders, excluding the nav data —so also the cows-da42 folder. I only want to be sure that we have the same configuration. After that, please start the sim and look in the EFB to see if you see any changes.
Sorry, last question - do you have any Marketplace sceneries installed?
Cheers, and thank you very much for your help here, but this is special, and I must know why this happened. It’s hard when I can’t reproduce it. I’m sorry about that. Trust me; we will find a solution (and you are lost —joke).
I’m the one who should thank you for your efforts—I really appreciate your help!
I followed your instructions and left only the two nav data folders (navigraph-nav-base and navigraph-nav-jepp) in the Community folder. Unfortunately, I still couldn’t find the BNS VOR in the EFB.
Also, I don’t have any Marketplace scenery installed except the AIRAC cycle from navigraph.
Please leave it all as it is, so only the navata folder. Then remove the content.xml file - the sim creates a new one when the sim starts.
You can find this file in your local app data folder. Open the file-explorer and copy&paste this line path line: %localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache
Please simply delete the content.xml file and restart the sim.
Cheers & thanks for your kind words - we will find a solution, I´m sure!
Richard
I tried what you suggested—I deleted the content.xml file and restarted the sim, but unfortunately, I still can’t find the BNS VOR in the EFB. Nothing has changed.
