I also noticed that the current measurement tool UI is not the same as the one displayed in the official Navigraph YT video showing the approach bundle. In the video below when using the measurement tool a box is displayed in the bottom of the map listing the total distance and two buttons named CLEAR and EDIT. I see nothing like that, I have Version: 8.43.0 Build: 915ca6d installed.
It seems this other UI does allow persistence, I guess.
The new measurement tool UI interface showing the box in the bottom is available thru version: 8.43.0 Build: 31c091ac2 in the android. The PC version has not been updated yet
There is a noticeable difference in behavior on desktop compared to iOS. After plotting the first leg on desktop, moving the mouse continues to display a dashed line representing the second leg. On iOS, this does not occur — the first leg remains visible, and you can move around freely without drawing an additional dashed line.
The iOS behavior provides a cleaner visual experience, and it would be ideal for all platforms to behave consistently. Ensuring a unified experience across the Charts apps would help users feel comfortable regardless of which device they are using.
We will need a little more information about what you experienced in order to reproduce.
OS version
Is this on the desktop app or the web version of Charts?
If Browser, what is the browser and browser version
If this is the desktop app, have you uninstalled, downloaded and installed 8.43.0?
Also, can you confirm that your charts version is 8.43.0. Its very possible that a cached mix of previous and current versions cause unexpected and inconsistency.
In the Desktop app and in the browser, after plotting the third leg, moving the mouse continues to display a dashed line. On Android, this does not happen — I can move the map freely, and only the three plotted legs remain visible, with no additional dashed line appearing.
The ideal solution would be to have the persistent behavior described in the topic title, allowing me to plot the legs and then continue using the app just as I do when a map overlay is displayed.
I can confirm this and joined to beg you to improve this, please.
I use the desktop version and when I draw a line, make the first click (measurement) it still “sticks” to the mouse.
How I’d like to use this tool:
draw a line and place it and have it stick there
be able to draw a second line (cross-bearing)
draw a line with more then one point (what is current possible, but also to edit a already drawn line)
Currently I just can draw a line, it sticks to the mouse and I have to abort the complete measuring and therefore have to delete the line.
