Currently, Simbrief only offers takeoff performance calculations based on automatic FLEX temperature optimization. However, a great addition would be the ability for users to manually enter a desired FLEX/assumed temperature. Ideally, both options should be available via a toggle between “Auto FLEX” (current behavior) and “Manual FLEX”. This would be particularly useful when the automatic optimization doesn’t provide acceptable stop margins.
Hi, you can achieve this by simply increasing the OAT to the desired FLEX temp.
So if your FLEX calculation returns FLEX 48, running another calculation with FLEX disabled and OAT manually set to 48 will give the same result. You can then reduce the OAT as desired to get more margin.
