LFKC Calvi, Wrong DME Distances of CLI LOC/DME

Hello,

The position of the DME of CLI seems correct, just of the threshold of rwy 36. But this causes it to read about 1,4DME, when passing the threshold of rwy 18, when it should read zero, as indicated in the approach chart.

This is also written in the french AIP

(2) Sec. util. : LOC. 0 NM DME: point d’impact à 2295 m du DME / target point 2295 m away from DME.

It does work correctly in xplane 12 with current nav data, but not in MSFS2020 with cylce 2502 rev1

Hi,
Thank you very much for this report. I will check it. This was an issue in MSFS2020 (therefore working in XP), and we have developed a workaround that works correctly. It is possible that in some situations, this workaround doesn’t work correctly.

This approach is coded as an LOC approach instead of an ILS approach due to the missed approach, this may be the issue here.

But again, let me check it. I will get back to you when I have an answer.

Thank you very much
Richard

Hi Nolto1,

I presume that it is purely a MSFS2020 problem. DME reading 0 at threshold requires the DME antenna coordinates to be arbitrary set to threshold coordinates (and not to their published values) in simulator BGL files, which is likely not the case here. Same in previous MS and P3D versions. Navigraph data are probably not concerned here. Richard will confirm (or not :face_with_hand_over_mouth:)

Regards

Hervé
