Here we can discuss the traffic pattern.
My 2-lap traffic pattern flight was detected as 3 laps, maybe something
is wrong with the lap detection/scoring algorithm?

Thanks.

Thanks a lot for reporting this, I have forwarded this to our developers.
I’ve completed the lesson and passed the flight, but the website isn’t allowing me to complete the lesson, it still is marked in progress. I have submitted a help ticket as well.
Hi! This is a known bug right now. We expect to release a fix very soon.
Edit: this bug has been fixed.
What makes a takeoff incomplete? takeoff
Did you get a post flight briefing at the end of the flight? That will explain a little further.
2 of my flights just said incomplete. The next explained enough. THX
I have removed the incomplete flight, can you check your lesson list again, please. Are you able to progress further?
It’s all working. Thanks.
Wanted to test a traffic pattern in LSZR Altenrhein in MSFS 2024 free mode, but can’t select the airport on the map nor in the selection box (map filters are reset). Any idea why? Passed the test, so I can definitely fly the airport without problems.
Edited: Ok, it has sth to do with my addons I load into the community folder. So I have to take a little research.
Ok, LSZR problem solved by removing the critical addon, but another question regarding speeds: I have now completed Lesson 8, 9 and the first exam and always struggle a bit, that the speeds in base & final leg drop off too much. With the described configuration I tend to have about 10 kts lesser speed than advised - still in the margin obviously, since I usually have to put in some rpm power again to get to reasonable speeds right before final & touchdown. I try to use those 2300/2000/1700 rpm marks. Do you have an explanation why?
@Beldalin It takes quite a bit of practice however bear in mind power controls altitude, pitch controls airspeed. Another useful tip is to use power as required, if you are seeing a lesser airspeed, increase power but also control the altitude with pitch.
By combining both, you’ll have both altitude and speed control in the correct areas.
Hi, I wanted to ask on what criteria do we need to meet for takeoff to be marked as complete? I have attempted this module 15 times now and the only reason I fail is the takeoff but I meet the 75kts mark and stable climb.
Thanks a lot for reporting, we’re looking into this.
After reviewing the last few recorded lessons there are a few inconsistencies, for example on one lesson the take off event was recorded, however it also contained a cruise segment where no climb event was observed. The climb segment was then observed 18 seconds after the take off event.
In order for Academy to detect and record each phase ie. taxi, takeoff, climb, cruise, you need to be very smooth but deliberate with these maneuvers. On take off, rotate and establish yourself into the climb, once you are at your target altitude, reduce pitch, establish yourself into the cruise and make sure your power is set for crosswind and the downwind leg.
Well I tried to recreate the instance where the takeoff did get recorded and even tried to force a climb as much as possible to record it as a takeoff. I will try it again and get back if I still get the same issue.
Hi in the Cessna 172 I adjust the camera settings according your recommendations, the result for the front view is ok, I get the front view recommended by you, but then when I look left in the traffic pattern for example I am unable to see the horizon, I am clearly too high in the seat position, so when looking left a significative part of the upper vision is obstructed by the upper part of the door, I have no adequate vision of my left to see properly the run way for example, is like I moved my seat clearly too high. In your youtube video seems like happens exactly the same in the initial left movement but immediately the view changes to other one in a much lower position that allow you to see from a lower position. Can you tell me if there is some camera settings allowing this?
Hello
I can understand what you mean, though setting the camera up is constrained to the default key binds. For now, you could assign a plus and minus camera height as you are checking left and right. We will, of course, look into this in future iterations of Academy.
