Lesson 1 in progress

Hi after i have done all lessons i saw that lesson 1 is not passed!
I have tried it several times in msfs2020, simlink is running and lesson in progress is marked.

But after quit to desktop., the status remains in progress and no passed ia coming

Which MSFS version are you using, 2020 or 2024? If 2024, which sim update(SU4, SU5 beta etc)

Also, it would be really helpful to understand how you begin the lesson, from Sim startup to spawning in the aircraft.

• Is Simlink already running when you launch the sim?
• When are you ending the lesson? Is it very quickly after completion?

It would also be really helpful if you could take a screen recording, if possible.

As i wrote i am flying in msfs2020 and simlink is open and running correct. MSFS2020 is SU4 and stable. I begin the lesson as it should be with custom content as all other 13 lessons i have finished. If i am at the end like your preflight video i wait and then go to the main menu of msfs2020.
Something is oddly: at the begin when i click “fly” the c172 is on the runway and running corect. But the nice lady comes and said “500”, but i am on the ground ??

I will be happy to provide a screen recording shortly, but in the meantime I can provide you some additional information.

I should’ve mentioned in my original post, that I have successfully passed lessons 2 through to and including the Solo Flight. So on terms of setup (msfs, SimLink etc. Im fairly confident its ok as it seems to be working for all other lessons with the exception of just Lesson 1.

As an overview of my process

1. On startup I launch Simlink and also MSFS
2. When MSFS is running, I then go to activities and launch Lesson 1 (during the Lesson I can confirm this does correctly update on the academy as ‘In Progress’)
3. I then go through the process of trying all the camera views, all controls and axis as per the Lesson description (I have tried this several times, and have tried extending the time spent in the Lesson, approx. 3 - 7 minutes.
4. When ending, I then select ‘End Flight’

Unlike all the other lessons, after a few minutes the lesson is no longer ‘In Progress’, but also no Flight is logged, and not result. The lesson just goes back to its original state.

My MSFS version is 1.6.34.0 which I believe is SU4.

I’ve manage to pass the lesson! Just as a random experiment I decided to do 1 lap of the pattern. After ending the flight it logged it correctly and was passed.

Not sure if the issue is with the detection of the aircraft location? Maybe not flagging as complete as there has been no movement, or similar or there’s simply a tome threshold that needs to be exceeded? If it is the latter, maybe an idea to reduce the time required on the lesson as the it can be completed fairly quickly, I’d say potentially as little as 2 minutes.

Gratulation! I have done the lesson under 2min as jason in the briefing video. No success!
Then your trick to fly a pattern: Success! My flights shows score 100 passed.
But in the course catalog: There is running in progress since 4 hours!
By the way: the pattern cannot be the solution at the easy start of the vppl!

Really interesting and really great news!

Regarding detection, under the hood, Academy requires a minimum of 60 positions recorded. It is quite perplexing that a given lesson could produce less than 60. That said, both of you @ClearSky45 and @ALBB23 are on the way fantastic!

  i have all lessons passed, also Lesson 1 after flying the pattern and ready for examen
  in the course catalog are only 13/14 and the “progress” is since 24hours in a loop.
• Please check your server, i cannot go further on my side, until i get the clearance for 14/14.

On lesson 1, how long are you staying in the aircraft? Try applying power, taking off and flying or 2 or 3 minutes.

I have started msfs 2020 3 minutes before and the score 14/14 is ok. Lets begin the exmans.

BTW: The lesson 1 should be the easiest, but there must be a bug:

1. The plane stand on runway 10 in lszr and the lady says 500, but i am on the ground.
2. I have done all the things jason shows in the video with the same settings on my honeycomb but no success.
3. After flying a pattern like in the pattern lesson the lesson 1 was ok.
   This procedure cannot be the correct one and i think your team has to check the description of this lesson. This wrong behaviour was several time reported in the forum since december 2025.
