Khpn ils16

Afternoon,

Started using the new Fly2High scenery for KHPN when I noticed the ILS for runway 16 was showing I was way too low vs what the PAPI was showing. I removed their scenery and confirmed with the stock scenery that it’s showing the same. Please see my screenshot for reference. Thanks for any insight!

Hi, good afternoon,
Thanks for your report. I can confirm it, and it has nothing to do with 3rd-party or stock scenery. I seem to have made a small calculation error. I will fix this in the next couple of hours and will release a second revision, as this issue affects all glideslops worldwide. Some less, some more …

I will keep you informed when the new revision 2 is online.

Thanks again for your valuable and good report!
Cheers,
Richard

Revision 2 is out… please open the Hub, update to AIRAC 2606 revision 2, and try it again. It should be better now … sorry for the mistake!

Here is the approach to KHPN ILS16:

Thank you,
Richard

Richard,

Thanks for the reply! I’ve updated my nav data, but still showing super high on the GS. See my attached image. I checked it with the stock scenery as well with the same result. It seems the GS is fine 1.6nm out, but once I get a bit closer as seen in my image, it’s off considerably. Thanks Richard!

Hi,
Thanks for your testing, much appreciated…

I have adjusted the pilot-eye height and the glideslope, and I guess I have found a good real solution for that. For me, it looks much better.

Tested in the C172 with the G1000 and the upcoming AIRAC 2606 revision 3:

I will do some more tests, but I guess it looks good …

Cheers,
Richard

Hi again,
I have uploaded revision 3 now - we have developed a brand new and more accurate method for the glideslope calculation. We ran a lot of tests over the last 2 days, and we think this is much, much, much better than before.

Please install revision 3 via the Hub and let us know your results.

Thank you very much,
Richard

Richard,

Thanks for the reply. It appeared to resolve the issue. Thanks!
