Justflight BAe 146 Addon (navigraph hub) causing FPS issues

Hello Support and all,

I’ll break down my issue in parts and the reason why I think the problem is associated with the “addon” navigraph hub download for the BAe 146 and the solutions I tried. I have had the BAe 146 since its release and my PC has no issues with performance while flying it.

The Issue:
This is on MSFS 2020. I’m encountering an issue while flying with the BAe 146 its respected navigraph addon installed (as of 2/15). Initially the BAe 146 loads fine and I get a smooth fps framerate with no stutters. However consistently flight after flight with the plane after about 20 mins, there is a slow degradation of FPS and an increase in stutters. It never improves, just progressively gets worse as the flight goes on. I flew a few aircraft different than the BAE 146 with nothing removed from the community folder and no issues are encountered. This occurs both in VR and Flat panel.

Things I’ve tried to solve the issue:
Reinstall the plane
Reinstall the Addon
Reinstall the Navigraph Hub
Reduce graphics setting to low (no change in FPS)
Reverting to default Nvidia settings
Switching between DLSS / TAA

Why I think the problem is the “addon” download itself:
To try to narrow the issue, I removed everything from the community folder but just the BAe 146. Over the course of a few flights the issue never occurred.

By process of elimination, I added just the Navigraph AIRAC update and the addon for the 146. The issue came back. In a final test, I removed the AIRAC and the issue remained. Isolating it to the BAe 146 navigraph addon.

Lastly to confirm the addon being the culprit, I added all my mods back to the community folder with the exception of the “Navigraph BAe 146 addon” and the issue didnt occur.

Just for the purpose of clarity, the issue does not occur with the general AIRAC rev. It is only with the specific BAe 146 navigraph addon.

My apologizes for the lengthy post, I just wanted to provide as much as I could to help solve the issue.

MY PC Specs:
i9-9900k / RTX 3090 / 32GB RAM / WIN 10
All drivers and Windows 10 updates are current.

For the time being, I’ve flown without the addon installed and this issue has not re-appeared.

Thanks Again!

Hi,
Thank you very much for this detailed report. I do not often see such a high-quality report. Thank you for that.

Unfortunately, I can´t reproduce your issue. I have now flown two short flights (one from LOWW - LOWI and one from LFMN to LFPG), and in both flights, I don´t see any FPS issue on my system with our data installed.

What I don´t really understand is whether you mean the data for the BAe itself is the culprit or the Navigraph Hub. I have installed all our add-ons in MSFS2020, plus the current AIRAC cycle files for all add-ons, and I can´t see any FPS issues. Further, I have checked our forum and the Flight1 forum about such reports, but I haven´t found such reports.

It is hard to identify such an issue because we lack logs or debugging tools to identify what happened in the background. We can only “play” a bit with our data (if it´s a data issue) and check the results. But we can´t try to analyze it until we can reproduce it, but I´m sorry.

Additionally, do you see this FPS issue when you re-install the BAe without updating the data? I ask because the default data are also from us, so I expect you to see the same behavior.

But it’s possible I misunderstood all of this, and you mean the Navigraph Hub and not the data …

Cheers,
Richard

Hi Richard,

Thank you so much for spending time to look into my issue. I know this was a time consuming process with trying to replicate my issue. Regardless of the outcome, I really appreciate the effort to do so from you. I thoroughly enjoy Navigraph’s product with all my planes and thanks for trying to get to the bottom of this.

Anyway, the Navigraph Hub itself functions correctly. It is this download when installed is when the issue consistently arises in the sim with the plane.

If I re-install the plane and do not download that package highlighted I get no FPS issues.

I’ve even downloaded every other package listed on the Hub (ie AIRAC, Avionics plugins, etc) with the exception of that specific package I still get no FPS issues while in flight.

I completely understand this might be an impasse if it cannot be replicated on your side. Which actually does help as it sounds like it could be on my end with my PC that is causing the issue.

If there isn’t anything else that could be thought of to resolve the issue, as a final attempt at a solution I may re-install MSFS to see if that resolves it. Due to my slow internet, I might hold off for sometime.

Once again, thank you Richard so much for looking into this and although there might not be a resolution presently, I appreciate the support you provided. Cheers. :+1:
