Invalid FPLAN Uplink

Hi all. Getting the Invalid FPLAN Uplink issue for the FENIX A320-CFM from KSEA to CYYC using Simbrief. Definitely selected correct aircraft, even paid for the Navigraph subscription and installed updates which shows in the MCDU as being up to date. Not sure what I am doing wrong? Flight plan below:

KSEA/34R N0439F350 MONTN2 SEA DCT ALPSE DCT YDC DCT MENBO DCT NORET IGVEP7 CYYC/35R

Really hoping someone can help as this was one of my favourite routes that I can no longer do for some reason. I’ve even reinstalled the entire simulator. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi, the route looks valid.

I’m afraid you’ll need to reach out to Fenix for them to investigate why the import is failing.

Best regards,

Hey, I’m facing the same issue saying, INVALIF F-PLAN UPLINK, and while entering the from/to its saying not in database.
I’m using FBW A32nx, from omdb/okkk.
Tried signing in again but still getting the same error.

Hi, “OKKK” airport changed identifiers a few years ago. Most likely your simulator’s navigation data is out of date.

Try using “OKBK” instead of “OKKK” in the FMS from/to line (OKBK is the old airport code). Unfortunately this mismatch means you will not be able to uplink the flight plan from SimBrief, you’ll need to program the route manually into the FMS.

Alternatively, you can update the navigation data of your simulator by purchasing a Navigraph subscription, which should enable you to use “OKKK” in the simulator and uplink the route as you normally would.

Best regards,

FWIW, I don’t think the navdata updates for the base simulator (either X-Plane or MSFS 2020) will update airport identifiers.

For example, in X-Plane, airport identifiers come exclusively from apt.dat files (one is provided by the sim itself and others are provided by scenery packs).

I am not as familiar with MSFS but if I am not mistaken, while Navigraph’s MSFS navdata adds airports that do not exist in the base sim (e.g. LTFM in Istanbul), I don’t think it can update airport codes for airports that already exist in the base sim? I imagine Richard will know for sure.

The FBW A320 relies on the sim’s built-in navdata so if I am right, a navdata update would not help in this case.

Another option would be to install a scenery pack that adds the airport, such as this freeware:

OKKK - Kuwait Intl. Airport and City مطار و مدينة الكويت

…that being said, obviously, a navdata update will also bring updated airways, waypoints and procedures to the simulator and third-party aircraft and may fix other potential cases of “invalid flight plan uplink”, just perhaps not this specific one.

Tim
