Inop in ingame msfs 2020

Still an issue with me.

First attempt to open the in game app works fine. once i close it however all subsequent attempts will fail. and the panel will show INOP

Great (I guess) news! I was just able to reproduce it. We will investigate and keep this thread updated!

Kind Regards,
Malte

Weā€™ve updated the panel version to match that of the desktop app. I am yet again unable to reproduce the issue regardless of how many times I restart the panel.

Please confirm whether the issue is still there for you! And if it is, please let me know how you reproduce it if anything has changed in this regard.

I should note that the issue that I detected previously seems to be directly connected to performance, happening only when the simulator environment is slowed down beyond normal for some reason.

Also - a quick tip that could probably improve the situation for you if you are ever closing the panel using the ā€œCloseā€ button in the top-right corner: Use Ctrl + N to toggle it instead! This way, the simulator wonā€™t throw away the panel contents and you wonā€™t have to load the panel from scratch the next time you open it!

Kind Regards,
Malte

I think this was asked before but is there any way to change the CTRL-N to a different key combination?

It is possible, but not convenient. It will also disappear every time that the panel is updated through the hub, but that should happen very rarely.

Just to add, I also have been plagued by the INOP issue with the in-game window, in my case in VR.

Some times for no obvious reason during the flight the app starts to work normally again mid-flight.

Not today though. That is when I found this thread so when sat at the gate after the flight I opened up the in-game app and still got the dreaded INOP. I closed the window and as suggested by mgnavi2615 I deleted the rolling cache (thank you for that tip by the way). I then immediately reopened the in-game charts window and lo and behold it worked normally!

If there is anything else I can look at that will help Navigraph track down this really annoying bug please let me know.

Just had the INOP issue over here and I was also successful sorting the problem by pressing the Delete button for Rolling cache in MSFS. Even when I have that option set to OFF which I find quite interesting.

Anyway, after pressing the delete button followed by apply, the in-game panel for Navigraph is working fine.

Surely this must be some form of clue for the devs whatā€™s going on?

Just to add Iā€™m also getting the INOP messages (both in VR and pancake). Works fine the first time in a new MSFS session/flight. Closing the panel (using the close button rather than CTRL-N) leads to an INOP message thereafter. I just came here after closing the session and saw the rolling cache tip so will try that next time.
This was flying the A2A Comanche. Havenā€™t tried with anything else as itā€™s too addictive!

Hi!

This issue is quite mind-boggling and hard to track down. We have just pushed another update to the panel (check the version in settings, should be v8.28.0 build inop-fix).

Let me know if the situation improves!

Kind Regards,
Malte

The screenshot you have sent is from the cloud or desktop version of charts. Those have not been updated, as I thought this issue applied to the panel only (given the title).

This is from the in-game panel:

Are you having this issue with other versions of Charts as well?

Sorry, my bad.

Just checked the in-game panel and looking good :+1:

Seems to be working good now. Checked my version is now 8.28.0 inop-fix build. This was also in conjunction with the MSFS patch that just downloaded too. Iā€™d also cleared the rolling cache before I saw this update. But either way closing/reopening the panel, as well as the ctrl-n hide/unhide appears to be working nicely. Thanks!

Happy to hear that! Keep the reports coming and hopefully weā€™ll be able to consider this solved!

Sorry to say Iā€™ve started seeing this problem again the last couple of days.

The workaround still works by deleting the rolling cache in MSFS2020 even when itā€™s not enabled.

This is what it looks like

Sighā€¦ Nothing came up during testing. Weā€™ll take a look as soon as possible! Thanks for the report

I too am getting the same problem now inop when trying to open the navigraph charts in VR mode, started happening a couple of days ago.

Running the latest software as well, still getting the error message INOP even though I updated to latest version. Happens in VR mode and 2D mode

Seen it on pretty much every flight the last few days and super annoying!

At least we have a workaround by deleting the rolling cache. Very weird though how a disabled feature would have this impact on a problem such as this but could possibly serve as a good clue for the devs.

This is the desktop app, not the in-game panel. Are you getting INOP in the desktop app?
