Inibuilds 306: Missing STAR/RW data for KIND (Indy)

CORRECTED to RW 5R instead of 8R…sorry for the typo*

A few weeks ago I set up a flight from KCLT to KIND in the A306 (premium). When I tried to set the runway and STAR, it only offered two of the seven available STARS in the MDCU (and not the one I wanted to use).

I just tried to repro the problem: it seems to list all of the STARS, but it doesn’t show any approaches (ILS, RNAV) into runway 05R.

So it seems that the Navdata into KIND is missing or flaky or something. Is this an Inibuilds thing, or a Navigraph thing?

I just tried the same flight/route in a Fenix A320, and all of the approaches/STARS seem to be in place.

Cross-posted this to Inibuilds Discord as well.

But there is no runway 08R at KIND?

Regards,

Tim

My bad, I meant RW05R…corrected above. Problem still stands.

Inibuilds Discord response says that it might be a scenery issue. I’ll temporarily remove my KIND scenery and see what happens later today.

That would be very new because when you use our database, it´s completely independent of the sim—but who knows? Second, all STARs are for all runways, so why should this be a scenery issue?

I want to test this, but I don´t know where - do you use MSFS2020 or 2024?

Cheers,
Richard

Thanks for the response. I’m in FS2020.

I’ll set up a few scenarios tonight and post back here with screen shots, but for the case above, simply plan a flight from KCLT to KIND in the Inibuilds A300-600 (I use the freighter), and when selecting the STAR in the MDCU, see if you can find any approach for RW08R…I didn’t see anything, ILS or RNAV.

I really wish I’d screen captured what I saw maybe three weeks ago…same flight, same plane, but it only showed two STARS into KIND instead of seven, which is why I decided to repro this yesterday (was “away from sim” for vacation).

I’ll post back some results hopefully tonight, including other planes that don’t use custom Navdata like the Fenix. I might try uninstalling/reinstalling the KIND scenery as part of this.

Thanks, I will do some tests too and will report here … I can only test this with the standard stock KIND scenery, but I can´t believe that the scenery has something todo with it. Anyway, we will see

Thanks for your fast feedback …

Cheers,
Richard

Welp, I just now saw the below post as auto-suggested by the forum. I do have the same airport scenery. I’m thinking this is the issue?

Ahh, stop. I have overseen an essential detail—you are using the Inibuild A300-600, right? I thought you meant the A350 . The A300 uses the in-game data, yes, so there is no external database.

I don´t have the Inibuild A300-600, but I have tested this with the stock G1000, which also uses the same data as the Inibuild A300-600, and here, I see all STARs:

… and hereis the list of approaches:

So, I also assume, this is a scenery issue … remove the scenery and try it again. I can´t see any missing navdata here.

Thank you,
Richard

PS: and yes, when the sim can´t assign the procedures to the runway-idents, the procedures will be disabled by the sim but that doesn´t mean you don´t have it in the data - they will only “disabled” - therefore, try to remove the scenery and use the stock scenery because the stock scenery has all correct runway-idents

Hey @SteveKane - sadly, this is likely the culprit assuming you have DDT’s scenery installed. I even think I had issues with KIND version 1 but only for only 5R; but it’s been a while.

Okay, confirmed that this is a Dominic Design Team issue. Was able to repro this in the stock Citation CJ4. I uninstalled the scenery from the Marketplace, RW05R was then available.

Interestingly, I was not able to reproduce this in the FSW Lear 35A with the TDS GTNXi; it had ILS and RNAV RW5R. Guessing this unit has its own database, even though it’s not a separate item in the Navigraph Hub?

Anyways, problem identified. Thanks, all!

Epilogue: I pinged Dominic Design Team’s Facebook site, and they said a fix is coming soon to KIND.
