I can add this of course, but out of curiosity, what does it actually accomplish?
Looks like it only amends the Flight Plan widget and gives a more accurate ETE? How accurate does this need to be, for example if I pass an average or typical value, would this be good enough?
Cheers,
It also affects automatic selection of airways (when you link two points together e.g. visually editing a route, it will pick the high resp. low airways depending on the cruise altitude). And in the US, it filters the offered routes in the corresponding drop-down based on the cruise altitude as well, low vs. high. That’s the main reason for my request.
And unfortunately, if you open a link that doesn’t have a value for speed and altitude, SkyVector resets to the defaults of 110 knots and 8000 feet.
It also affects the ETE for each leg in the navlog.
It only needs to be as accurate as you want it to be, average or typical is fine for most purposes as far as I can tell. In theory you can also pass step climbs and speed changes in the route (waypoint/N0___F___), but that might be overkill? IDK.

Tim
Thanks, this is now added to the generated flight plan SkyVector links.
It will be added to the SkyVector link on the Flight Options page in the next update.
