FS2024 SU2 with latest NG patch.
I load a free flight with a DA40 with G1000. I open the EFB, go to simbrief select a flight plan in the list, and click “Import Route”… It said that the route if sucessfully imported but it is not actually loaded into the G1000.
Hello! Thank you for opening a new topic.
Can you reproduce this with any default aircraft? I assume this is COWS?
Kind Regards,
Malte
I’m having something similar:
Navigraph plugin not loading FMS in 2024 SU 2 Beta
It does appear that loading the FMS with a flight plan from either the Navigraph plugin or “sending” it from a simbrief plan imported in the simulator EFB isn’t working with MSFS SU Beta 2
With the non-beta SU 1 I had no such issues. Everything in the Navigraph hub is up to date ( this is in the AzurPoly Transall)
No error message, just no plan showing in the FMS.
I will try tonight with a cessna. Indeed it was COWS. Also something that is strange is that it put the SR22 in aircraft type while in SimBrief this is diamond DA40…
So I can confirm that I do not have the problem with the 172. I have the issue with the COWS. I have not tried other aircraft as I do not have many… especially with G1000…
@Burnhaven What aircraft are you using?
Where did you see this type?
There is no DA40 data on Simbrief, this is most likely a custom airframe using the SR22 base profile under the hood, and the plugin might be erroneously using the base type’s ICAO designator instead of the airframe’s.
Regards,
Tim
P.S. for example, if my guess is correct, the Simbrief XML output would look something like this:
<aircraft>
<icaocode>DA40</icaocode>
<iatacode/>
<base_type>SR22</base_type>
<icao_code>DA40</icao_code>
Interesting! The plugin does not take the aircraft into account during import so it should not matter, but it is still an interesting detail..
Perhaps it would be good to try with a different flightplan that uses a standard airframe?
AzurPoly Transall. Once I left the SU 2 beta and went back to SU 2, importing simbrief plans works again.
Do you see the same thing in default aircraft?
I haven’t tried it with any other aircraft
I confirmed that indeed the DA40 is defined from SR22. I don’t remember how I have cxreated the airframe, but we have to select something starting from. Probably I have followed COWS instruction, but I cannot certify as it is long time ago.
If I try to do the same with the Absobo DA40, it stills display the SR22 model, but the import of the route works correctly. So the issue is related to COWS and not probably related to the SR22 displayed based mode.
Please do, and report back with your findings. We need to narrow this down - the addons in question could be using outdated avionics that simply are not compatible anymore, a quick way to verify that this is addon-specific is to try a default aircraft like the SR22!
Happy to hear it! I’ll see if anyone on the team has COWS to see if we can reproduce it internally, but it is likely an issue on their side. We shall investigate!
Also, please try importing the flight through the G1000 plugin instead (Flight plan catalog page in the MFD) and see if that works better!
Kind Regards,
Malte
I just tried the TBM 930 in SU 2 beta and a simbrief plan loaded, so the issue seems to exist for certain aircraft and not others.
Back in the Transall I can see my simbrief plan in the sim EFB, but various methods, including the shown “send” button make no changes in the FMS
Hello again! Sorry for the delay. I have some updates!
@pascalbxlx the reason why the route does not show up in the COWS DA40 is that the aircraft is outdated. It is using a version of the G1000 that comes bundled with an old SDK, meant for MSFS 2020. This means neither our SimBrief EFB app nor the EFB “Flight Planner” app can send a flight plan to this aircraft.
The solution to this issue would be for COWS to adapt their aircraft to MSFS2024 by switching to the new version of the G1000. Here’s what the default DA40 uses instead of the above:
This is the reason why everything works in the default aircraft.
In the meantime, you can use the import procedure that is part of our G1000 plugin that comes with this aircraft! As mentioned earlier, it is available under the “Flight Plan Catalog” menu. I have verified that this works as expected, and it technically is more realistic as well
@Burnhaven I am willing to bet that the same goes for the Transall. The “Send” button that you mention is included in the simulator and has nothing to do with SimBrief or Navigraph, so if that does not work - the issue is either on the simulator or addon side.
In this case, the issue could be considered on the addon side. Of course, it could be argued that the new tech should be backwards compatible, but that is beyond the scope of Navigraph!
Let me know if any of you have any additional thoughts or questions!
Kind Regards,
Malte
I agree! Thanks for the information!
Thanks. The issue only seems to occur with the SU 2 beta, not msfs 2024 SU 2. Simbrief flightplan import to the Transall FMS doesn’t work using the Navigraph addon/plugin either. Not a big deal, and perhaps AzurPoly will address it in time. For now I either use the non-beta version or revert to 2020.
