Import into charts

When I import into Charts and select any chart from departure or arrival airport, the chart loads but it does not give me the option to print, NO printer icon appears at the top right of my screen.

The only way I can print is if I load Charts Desktop separately and look for the chart I require, the printer icon is visible !!!

Unfortunately that’s the case, print functionality is only available on the Charts standalone app and is not available on the browser based, cloud, version.

We did previously investigate this but ultimately opted out of this functionality because of several constraints.

  • The “Print preview” was blank due to the amount of data in the average OFP
  • While using the “Print to PDF” option, the time from pressing print to the file being fully saved was over 30 seconds on average
  • Printing the average OFP caused the CPU usage to rise to 100%

That said, I would recommend you take a look in the wishlist, there is some interest there regarding print functionality. We do pay quite close attention to the wishlist, if many people are interested in such functionality, we can of course revisit and reinvestigate.
