Hi Guys,
With so many new and exciting flight models being released almost every month, those of us who seek maximum immersion in our sim hobby, like to position the aircraft at a ‘true to life’ parking gate/ramp which is commensurate with the size of the aircraft to be flown. The small/med sized do not present a problem, but gates for the larger flight models (e.g. A380, B747, B777, B787) are more difficult to identify…often the MSFS definition of a ‘Heavy’ parking slot and the ‘real life’ gate sizes are not the same !!
If you zoom in using the Navigraph map, (which is simply amazing btw), the airports are superbly laid out, complete with all the numbered taxiways, icing slots etc, and each gate is clearly marked with its number in a black box adjacent to its terminal.
Would it be possible to colour code the gate numbers for the ‘Heavy’ aircraft? The small/med gates could stay in black boxes as there are so many of them…but the ‘Heavy’ gates being highlighted in a suitably contrasting colour making identification easy.
There is an ongoing issue with MSFS and GSX regarding what is and isn’t a ‘Heavy’ parking slot which is not a ‘Navigraph’ concern, and any conflict can easily be remedied by using ‘GSX’ parking editing feature.
Just an idea…what do you think?
