Gallons for fuel

My Redwings Super Connie fuel page displays gallons as well as lbs.
Can Simbrief display both for a given FP?

Hi, in the next update we’ll add a small pop-up/tooltip to the Flight Briefing page showing the fuel quantities in US gal and Liters for both Avgas and Jet-A. It’ll look something like this:

No ETA on when it might be released just yet, possibly not until May.

Best regards,

Will the density be static pr e.g. based on weather condition at the departure airport (the Hot Start Challenger 650 does something like this, for example)?

If fixed it might be useful to use a density “typically” used by the major simulators like X-Plane and MSFS (not sure what those are, specifically, if any— X-Plane uses weights internally although they must use some value to show gallons on smaller aircraft’s cockpit instruments).

It might also be useful to be able to specify a custom density on a per-airframe basis (one could use it to e.g. march the densities used by the FSEconomy client, as FSE specifies fuel quantities in gallons, which the X-Plane FSE client converts to weight to set the appropriate X-Plane dataref, for example— or match the weight to gallon/liter ratio used by a specific addon’s cockpit instruments).

Regards,

Tim

Hi Tim, the fuel densities will be adjustable within the pop-up for now:

They’ll default to 6.0 lb / US gal for Avgas and 6.7 lb / US gal for Jet-A, which seems to match what MSFS uses by default.

Looks usable enough, thanks! :slightly_smiling_face:
